A Turkish soldier was killed and five others wounded in Syria’s Ras al-Ayn after a rocket and mortar attack by members of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) on October 27, the Turkish Defense Ministry reported.
According to the Turkish military, the soldiers were attacked during a reconnaissance patrol. Turkish forces responded to the attack, the defense ministry added.
On the same day, the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces announced that they started the withdrawal of their forces from the border with Turkey under the agreement reached by Ankara and Moscow.
So Kurds are not withdrawing? Cool. I can’t wait to see the result of that.
Of course not. The TAF and TFSA are not abiding by the ceasefire, have attacked civilians, and have attacked the SDF and the SAA, both in and out of the declared zone. The SDF are now busy fighting alongside the SDF against the Turkish invasion.
” According to the Turkish military, the soldiers were attacked during a reconnaissance patrol.”
This Turkish statement suggests that their troops were performing a ‘sneaky beaky’ recce either near, on or behind the YPG lines.
Essentially, the turks were taught a hard lesson in the skills of patrolling where the opposition are using live rounds :)
Rumor is, this is the same recon unit that protected Turkish Leopard tanks just west of Al Bab. :)
Experts in their chosen field then,PZIVJ :)
rest in peess !!
poor tukish soldiers :( nobody likes them..
The Turks should come back to Turkey now. They SDF rejoined the SAA and Damascus. The scare-crow can be retracted. If it s not, some Turks will start dying.
