14 members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have been killed as a result of Turksih airstrikes, the Turkish military announced on Saturday.
“In a written statement, the Turkish Armed Forces said an hourlong air operation on Iraq’s Sinat-Haftanin region starting at 8.31 a.m. local time (0531GMT) had killed six terrorists.
In another air operation in the southeastern Adiyaman province at around 07.10 a.m. local time (0410GMT), eight terrorists were killed.
The statement said the terrorists had been plotting terrorist attacks,” the Turkish pro-government media outlet “Anadolu Agency” reported.
Separately, the Turkish military claimed that 112 PKK members were killed in government military operations in Turkey in the perioud between April 20 and April 28.
In April, Ankara increased its military activity against the PKK in Iraq and in Turkey and against the Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG)in northern Syria. Turkey describes the YPG as a branch of the PKK. Meanwhile, the YPG is a core of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces fighting against ISIS in Syria.
The Turkish activity has already led to increased diplomatic tensions between Ankara and Washington. The US reportedly deployed its forces in the YPG-held territories of Syria in order to “monitor” Turkish military strikes.
US would protect PKK and YPG as long as they are on or near the ISIS front fighting ISIS, but I don’t see much reason to protect them anywhere else; especially North of the M4 hwy. If they are in the North then they are clearly deployed against Turkey and not ISIS, and America only needs to defend forces deployed against ISIS, not Turkey; which for now at least defends abortion rights like Russia and North Korea, but not SAA, Iran or Israel.

My comment is not directly related to the above article, but I am hoping that some knowledgeable person posting on this site might be able to respond to my question. I have read several articles suggesting that the Turks are in the final sages of buying the S-400 system from Russia. This just sounds like complete madness to me. I can not believe that such a thing is possible. It would make no sense at all and if true would mean that either Russia is insane or I am.

Paul here is my take and I have been 100% correct so far in predicting the behavior of Turkey. As I predicted Turkey has just started and will conduct a large air war bombing campaign against the Kurdish armed forces in Syria and Iraq and then invade (even if it means war with the USSA and its master Israel) enough to draw Kurdish forces to the Turkish border so the SAA can take the rest of Syria and Iraqi forces can take the rest of Iraq.
I bet this is part of a secret and brilliant Russian, Turkish, Syrian, Iraqi, Iranian and Chinese plan. That is when Turkey gets the S-400 when they leave NATO. They sign the contract for the S-400 now, so that Russia can supply them and say it is not in violation of any future US or EU arms embargo against Turkey when Turkey leaves NATO and declares war on the Kurds, just like Russia has done when supplying Syria with arms. Russia should also sell the S-400 to Iran. This S-400 deal also lets Turkey know Russia, China, Iran Syria and Iraq will support Turkey militarily if Israel and its slave vassals the USA and or NATO attack Turkey. This will mean the total defeat of Israel’s Yilon plan for greater Israel and maybe the end of the Zionist NATO Pact and the Zionist EU.
Research the Yilon plan and you will see to means the total destruction of Turkey and many other states to be replaced by a greater Israel, with a large percentage of Turkey’s population to be exterminated. States operate according to broad interests. Russia and Turkey are neighbors with many common interests. So in a broad context, this is a step that will bring them closer. It is impossible and not wise to examine the relations between them only in the prism of the war in Syria.
Turkey is part of NATO. My thinking is why give your enemy or potential enemy a weapon. Don’t arm your adversary would seem just an obvious rule of war. I know this is something I would not do. Also why let NATO examine your most advances systems? That is what will surely happen if the Turks got hold of the S-400 (even an export version ).
