Two service members of the British Special Air Service (SAS) were injured in a roadside bomb blast while they were conducting a top-secret humanitarian mission in Yemen, the Express reported on February 17.
According to the British newspaper, the service members were a part of a 12-man strong unit, which flew into the southern Yemeni city of Aden from Djibouti aboard a UAE Chinook helicopter three weeks ago. The unit is working under U.S. command alongside members of Operational Detachment Alpha, the primary fighting force for the American Green Berets.
“The issue is that this country is on the edge of famine. This unit’s task was to identify areas for a drop, and secure people on the ground we can deal with should the green light be given for food and medical aid drops,” the Express quoted a military source saying.
The SAS unit was operating near the town of Marib, 500 miles north of Aden, when one of its pickups was hit with a landmine. Two soldiers sustained leg injuries and were evacuated by a UAE helicopter to the U.S. military base in Djibouti.
“This is a region filled with land mines and improvised explosive devices, and the intelligence we are gathering is vital not only for any future air drops but also to transport aid should Hudaydah reopen,” the military source said.
British sources believe that the landmine was planted by the Houthis, who control large areas west and south of Marib. However, the Yemeni group didn’t claim responsibility for the unusual attack.
The nature of the SAS mission in Yemen is highly questionable. It remains unclear why such an elite military unit would be engaged in a humanitarian mission and why would such mission be classified as “top-secret.”

British military force has been murderously active in different segments of Yemen for many decades. Neither mainstream media nor British government have informed the public of generational atrocities committed in Yemen by British forces on land, by sea and from the air.
I cannot recall Parliamentary approval for British troops in Yemen either.
Or Syria. Or Ukraine.

If people looked back over my comments. I openly published three years ago that SAS were operating inside of Yemen. In fact before this latest war even started I had been informed that SAS are often operating inside of the country. I have no idea many of the things they are doing. But I do know they have operated inside of Houthis territory. I do know for a fact they have marked targets for air strikes. And I do know for a fact on at least three occasions they have directly engaged Houthis and have killed. My guess is I only know the 1% tip of the iceberg. I am sure that the SAS since the 1960’s have been heavily engaged in always working against the indigenous tribes that God placed their. What do you expect from a bunch of anti-theist? The SpecialAidService has long been involved in giving children sweets , building schools and creating a community spirit within tribal areas. SAS training involves carrying large loads over rugged terrain. I never realised that this was practice to rescue Widows and Orphans in far off lands.
Why does an image of the SAS being sent, to make sure Shamima Begum and her baby, have a safe journey home, so come to mind? No doubt, having to pop into Yemen, to pick up some nappies and baby milk, for the journey?

The SAS do not do humanitarian operations, they are used for commando style raids, recon and assassination.
They go where the politicians send them, not Army command.
