Two Druze Sheikhs Killed In New Round Of Clashes With Daraa Gunmen

On November 7th, clashes broke out between Druze fighters from al-Suwayda and unidentified gunmen from Daraa in southern Syria.

According to the al-Suwayda 24 blog, the conflict began when gunmen had abducted three hunters who were traveling between the towns of al-Thaala and al-Tireh in the western countryside of al-Suwayda, along the administrative border with Daraa.

Druze fighters from the so-called “Men of Dignity” group launched an operation in the region in order to capture the kidnappers and free the hunters.

The fighters clashed with the kidnappers west of Kanakir. During the clashes, two Druze fighters were killed and several others were injured. The two fighters, Amer Farag and Taher al-Germani, were both Druze religious scholars [Sheikhs].

The bodies of the Sheikhs were handed back to the “Men of Dignity” by fighters from the Russian-backed 5th Corps, who didn’t take part in the clashes.

The “Men of Dignity”, which was formed in 2014, is known for its stand against the Damascus government. The group, however, have never attacked the Syrian Arab Army.

During September, 16 Druze fighters were killed and at least 63 others were injured when the “Men of Dignity” launched a failed attack on the 5th Corps in western Daraa.

The growing influence of local armed groups in southern Syria is slowly destabilizing the region. In the last few months, dozens of attacks took place in the region. Criminal activities are also on the raise there.

The concept of “Men of Dignity” used by this Sheikhs bloke group – in my view – goes directly against the ideals of the Damascus government. Like as if all of a sudden a demon-possessed man would declare himself The Savior. Amazing how psychopaths use such dignified organization names as if the name would clean up their very lost, blackened “souls”.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

If you read what they actually have to say you’ll find they aren’t opposed to the Syrian Government in most cases, in fact in most cases the Men of Dignity support the Syrian Government in the same way most of the other Druze factions do, and the only big problem the the Men of Dignity have with the Government is mandatory military conscription. And the Men of Dignity want Russia to get out of Syria too, that’s the only other big problem they have with the Syrian Government, that’s why the Russian backed 5th army corps has been giving the Men of Dignity such a hard time lately, but they’re not the enemy just yet, they can still be persuaded to come back to the negotiating table. There is a splinter group that defected from the Men of Dignity [I don’t remember their name], they’re totally opposed to the Syrian Government and they do fight on the oppositions side, and they definitely do hold views that “go directly against the ideals of the Damascus government”, so they are the real enemy, and the worst case scenario is for the Men of Dignity and the splinter faction to reunite again, but this time on the oppositions side.

With moustaches like these and those silly keks that make them look like they’ve sh*t themselves, I’m not surprised. What is with these Druze? They are the very same people that refused to conscript their tribe when Assad requested their help and now, they are crying like babies and want Damascus’ help when they are being f*cked! Sorry guys… Oh… Men of Dignity… ha ha, who the F comes up with these names???!!!

Willing Conscience (The Truths

“The growing influence of local armed groups in southern Syria is slowly destabilizing the region. In the last few months, dozens of attacks took place in the region. Criminal activities are also on the raise there.”

And the commander of the Russian backed SAA 5th army corps 8th Battalion told us exactly who was responsible for most of the destabilising and criminal activity in the region, the Iranians. I posted comments with links to 3 articles recently, the first was from one of the supreme commanders of the Druze in the region and he accused Iran of financing criminal gangs with the intent of sowing discord in the region, he also said they were responsible for many of the kidnappings, smuggling activities, and also supplying illegal drugs, that’s what he said. And then a few weeks ago the commander of the Russian backed 5th army corps 8th Battalion accused Iran of supporting the Men of Dignity, he told us Iran was responsible for their current funding and supplies of weapons, and last week I posted another statement from him concerning his trip to Jordan and his discussions with Jordanian Intelligence, he claimed they were discussing international cooperation to curb Iranian influence in southern Syria. So the leaders of the Druze in As Suwayda are saying Iran’s a destabilizing influence in the region, and the leader of the Russian backed 8th Battalion is saying the same thing, so what’s the truth. Now normally the 5th army corps and the Leaders of the Druze aren’t exactly best of friends, but now we have the official authorities of both groups saying the same thing. It should be obvious they’re both telling the truth, it is Iran destabilizing the area, and in exactly the same way they did in Deir ez Zor and tried to do in Aleppo, but it won’t happen here in Darra/Quneitra/ As Suwayda, there’ll be a rebellion against the Syrian Government before that can happen. Southern Syria is about to implode thanks to Iranian zealotry, so if the Russians don’t make a stand against Iran soon they’ll lose everything. The Men of Dignity are only a small faction of the overwhelmingly pro Syrian Government Druze community, and even though they aren’t really anti Syrian Government, they are totally anti Russian and want Russia to get out of As Suwayda. And that’s become a problem, because when and if Russia does move out [as they did in Deir ez Zor], Iran will just move in and take their place, and then the poo will really hit the fan, because unlike Deir ez Zor where the Iranians had at least some local support, down here they have practically none, but they do have overwhelming local opposition to their presence.
