The U.S.-led coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on May 14 that they had carried out a new security operation in the eastern governorate of Deir Ezzor.
In a short official statement, the SDF Coordination and Operations Center said that the operation targeted ISIS cells in the eastern Deir Ezzor countryside. Two of the wanted terrorists blew themselves up during the operation.
“A new operation carried out by our special units and the international coalition, by targeting a cell of ISIS in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, resulted in the killing of two members of the cell, who blew themselves up after being wounded in clashes during the operation,” the statement reads.
Col. Myles B. Caggins III, a spokesman for the coalition, confirmed that the operation was successful. According to the spokesman, the units which took part in the operation sustained no losses.
Earlier this month, a commander of ISIS was captured by the U.S.-led coalition and the SDF in a similar operation. Back then, some wanted terrorists also blew themselves up to avoid getting captured by the special forces.
The recent operations in Deir Ezzor have led to a significant improve in security there. Nevertheless, many of ISIS cells could be laying down, waiting for the operations to end to resume attacks.
Yeah right. Because the Ziocunt US/Kurds didn’t give ISIS SDF uniforms to change into during their so-called “anti-ISIS campaign” in eastern Deir Ezzor, lol. ISIS routinely publishes videos of their raids and attacks against SAA-led liberation forces, but no video at all of US/SDF vs ISIS “operations”.
