The Ministry of Defense of Turkey announced on March 16 that 2 Turkish service members were killed and 8 others were injured during recent operations against Kurdish forces in northern Iraq.
According to the ministry’s statement, 6 Kurdish fighters, including a woman, were neutralized in the course of the operations. The Turkish MoD uses the word “neutralized” to imply that the fighters in question either killed, injured or captured.
Since 2015, the Turkish military has intensified its operations against the remnants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in northern Iraq. The Kurdish group is recognized as terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the European Union.
Most of the Turkish attacks inside Iraq are coordinated with the Kurdistan Region Government and the Iraqi Federal Government. Turkey even established several military bases in the Kurdistan region.
The Turkish military claims that its units have neutralized over 10,000 fighters of the PKK since 2015. However, Kurdish activists doubt this claim.
I like how the Turks coordinate their kills with Kurds in Northern Iraq to kill PKK Kurds haha. As if Kurds are united! Most are Headchoppers and love Erdoganistan and Erdoganistan. One of the key early leaders of Isis was a Kurd brought out from sanctuary given to him by ZiousNATO in Scandinavia to come back to the Middle East and head newly-formed ISIS.
