Two U.S.-led coalition Convoys Attacked By Shiite Fighters In Southern, Central Iraq

Support SouthFront

On September 27 afternoon, two convoys transporting equipment and weapons for the U.S.-led coalition were attacked in Iraq.

The first convoy was targeted with an improved explosive device in the district of Batha in the southern province of Dhi Qar. The second convoy was attacked in a similar fashion as it was passing on the Hilla highway in the central province of Bablyon.

A truck carrying an armored vehicle of the U.S.-led coalition was damaged as a result of the attack in Batha. Sabereen News shared a photo of the truck.

The new attacks came following a Washington Post report that revealed a recent threat from the U.S. to the Iraqi Government. According to the report, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo informed Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi that the U.S. will close its embassy in Baghdad if the attacks continues.

Iraqi Shiite group Saryat Qasim al-Jabbarin, which claimed responsibility for Batha attack, responded to Pompeo’s threat by vowing once again to expel U.S. troops from Iraq.

“We say to Pompeo, we swore to expel your rats dead, their vehicles burned and their hideouts destroyed, from our country,” the group said in a statement.

These recent attacks on U.S. troops are a response to the assassination of Iranian Quds Force Commander, Qassim Soleimani, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of the Popular Mobilization Units, earlier this year.

“The U.S. will close its embassy in Baghdad if the attacks continues” It seems like an invitation to continue the attacks.

The Objective

It means the U.S. will strike back and also punish the government of Iraq with sanctions.

François

Yes, and then the US will be struck harder.

The Objective

Then the U.S retaliates even harder.

verner

dream on stupid!

The Objective

We’ll know in the coming months if I’m dreaming, provided Trump wins.

John

It is not a plastic soldier chessboard over there, or anyplace else for that matter. I once thought as you have posted here. Eventually and thank Almighty God, a realistic understanding on the situation in many places around the world has come into view.

We are going to be gone dude and civilizations that have been around, families even, for thousands of years will continue to go about their business. We are just a johnny come lately empire and our traces there will fade into the dust. My take on this stuff.

catalin zt

Wet dreams mr. anglo-saxon perverspervert, greedy, paedophile, ugly Snake! Dirty Murika will be wiped out soon by the Angels of Earth! Amen

The Objective

We’ll know whether I’m lying if Trump wins the election. But if you love the Iranian regime, then pray earnestly that Trump doesn’t win. If he does, it’ll be a miracle for the regime to avoid a war.

cechas vodobenikov

amerikans never can occupy—except Grenada….they cower in their military installations

Aquilegia

USA can’t afford another large war or invasion (occupation) of Iraq. It would need to certainly introduce a draft system, which given the already high domestic chaos would be a further nail in the coffin. And no EUropean country (potentially only the UK poodle) wants anything to do with another invasion in the middle east – they are all on their own.

The Objective

The U.S is already an occupying force in Iraq right now. What invasion are you talking about? The invasion already happened, with U.S weapons and soldiers currently on Iraqi soil. Rolling in their tanks from nearby Kuwait is just like reinforcing the forces already in Iraq. Besides, Trump can only do such in his second term – where any opposition wouldn’t mean much. I’m telling you the U.S will crush Iran’s militias in the Middle East if Trump wins a second term.

Антон С

Not in Estonia. There are no permanent bases, just rotating forces. to have bigger contingent here is dangerous to the Atlantic pact, because it can be taken in blockade in the case of war.

Free man

I don’t see an American invasion in the near future. I do see massive American bombings. The Iraqi army will do the rest. Iraqis understand that the Iranian militias are a cancer. They see what Hezbollah is doing to Lebanon.

The Objective

The U.S will likely roll in their tanks after degrading the militias from the air. This they’ll do to make sure the job of subduing the militias is done properly.

Rafik Chauhan

israel tried to do the same thing ith hezbollah and you know what happen zionist begged US to get Ceasfire in UN with hezbollah. it will samething happen to US bcuz if kuwait /Bahrain or any base in GCC allow US to target iraq and ressitance they will be the target itself. US is pussy if they see large scale attack on them they will back down.

Rafik Chauhan

Then it will create more enemy bcuz PMU is withing goverment and attacking them is like attacking goverment. PMU will use antiaircraft missile which they already have . they have bought down many US drone . US will be completly out of the region .if US think of attacking any large popultaion. US troop will go in body bags in large scale. bcuz REssitance knows US force station but US force doesnt know every place where ressitance is there.

You have no knowledge of what Iraq will do. US Government is predictable, Iraq, not so much. There is this interesting little detail, about Iraq. It recently requested a military alliance with Russia. This request was accecpted, a trade alliance was also arraigned. It was suggested that seeking military alliances with it’s neighboring countries may be to Iraq’s liking. Iraq followed up on the suggestion, alliances were formed. Cooperation was instant, and trade between Iraq, and the regional military power surged. US Government is acutely aware of these recent alliances, although you may not be. These events have changed the dynamic in Iraq, and the Middle East. US Government knows beyond a reasonable doubt it’s military cannot defeat Iran in conventional war. It has not the wherewithal to prosecute war against Iran, and then occupy the country should it prevail. US military cannot get what is necessary. US Government has been advised by Russia, (a very strong world power) against the use of nuclear weapons. Any launch of a nuclear weapon towards Russia, or it’s allies will bring an immediate response to attack 7 locations inside US borders, and any, or all the US military nuclear weapons launch sites in Europe. Russia named the 7 locations in US it will strike. Using hypersonic weapons, that are stationed within 200 miles of both US coasts, now. It is, of course known there is no analog anywhere in the world currently for Russia’s hypersonic weapons. Russian submarines are very difficult for Western military to track at this time. Russia also advised there should be minimal collateral damage to the targets in US. Being military facilities that have little to no civilian infrastructure nearby. Russia stated an obligatory disclaimer on the matter of collateral damage in Europe, saying that given the proximity to civilian infrastructure the US military missile batteries were located moderate to high collateral damage should be expected. Further, Russia accecpted no responsibility for and damage as the country hosting these sites knew how close to civilian infrastructure they are when they allowed them to be placed there. Fair enough. At worst, collateral damage will be far less than is caused by US military attacks on targets even close to civilian infrastructure, which US military deliberately attacks, and has a long ass history of attacking civilian infrastructure, and populations. It’s become the trademark of US/NATO military forces. Despite US Government bluff, and bluster, and lunatic behavior in general, it knows, (or at least The Pentagon does) should it choose to attack Iran, or Russia it will have its ass handed to it. Quickly. US military can expect to lose all it’s assets, as old, and maintenance deferred as they are writhin the range of Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers, and long range MiG-31 fighters. (they’re capable of carrying hypersonic weapons and are the perfect escorts for the fast bombers. F-35 can’t flee fast enough to avoid an attack, or to intercept a bomber that’s twice as fast as it is. There aren’t sufficient numbers of F-22 to begin braying about, it’s F-16, and F/A-18 that won’t really have much chance to do anything about the bombers, or a place to land. Those that survive. Hypersonic weapons aren’t the only weapons systems Russia has in service that have no analog. Nobody wants to hear about how big US military is. Russian military is smaller only in figher aircraft, and aircraft carriers. Russia has a smaller on duty size force, but has bigger reserve forces, making the numbers about even. WWII, Germany had the smallest military in 1939, 17 million men, Wehrmacht was 90% horse drawn. You do the math on the total number of allied forces, then add the Russian military to that. US military had 10% of it’s military in the Pacific Theatre. It was Russia that won the war in the European theatre for the allies. Then US stole the credit. Russia has Spetsnaz, the West does not. Still, I think US Government will attack. Unless Russia takes the correct decision, and takes the initiative. There would be far less destruction in that way. As Putin said, “When one is in a street fight, and outnumbered, and there is going to be a fight. It’s very important that you strike first.” Some US Civil War General said, “The one that gets there the firstest with the mostest wins.”

The Objective

Much of what you say about Russia’s military capability is true, but that doesn’t mean Russia will risk nuclear war by trying to protect Iran. The chances of Russia physically fighting the U.S over Iran is absolutely ZERO. If you doubt me because I’m no fan of Iran, then go ask The Saker – one of the staunchest pro-Russian Iranian supporters out there. His website is, “thesaker.is” Secondly, your claim that the U.S doesn’t want a war with Iran is totally false. How can a country avoiding war assassinate the top military leader of its adversary while being in close proximity to that adversary? That’ll be completely illogical. It is the other way round. Iran is the one avoiding a war. Just of recent, Rouhani said NO COUNTRY CAN IMPOSE WAR ON IRAN. What this means is that Iran isn’t going to take the bait of America to start this war. Similarly, the top Iranian general heading the IRGC warned that Iran will occupy U.S bases should it be forced in a way.

For both Rouhani and the IRGC general, they perceive someone is trying to draw them into a war. There is no such person except Trump and his crowd.

John

who cares.

Free man

Iranian militias are playing with fire. And probably very soon they will get a burn: : https://twitter.com/Archer83Able/status/1310312674035740673

Icarus Tanović

Shut the fuck up slave.

The Objective

No doubt the fire they are attempting to light will burn all the way to Tehran. A Trump victory will be a nightmare for Shiites. If Trump wins: -the JCPOA is gone -Sanctions on Iran continue and intensify -Devastating strikes on Shiite militias by both the U.S and Israel -Civil war likely to break out in Lebanon to weaken Hezbollah -More confrontation on Iran’s nuclear advances (constant threats of military strike against Iran). If Iran crosses a redline, there’ll be a military strike – most likely by Israel with American blessing -Probably more assassinations -More instigated color revolutions in Iran -More sabotage targeting Iran

Whether or not a war happens depend largely on Iran’s response to these provocations. I think Iran will still do its best to dodge any direct shooting war with the U.S. The Mullahs will likely decide to wait out Trump.

François

Good job

The Objective

Fuck em. If they intended to do that, they won’t announce it.

François

Trying hard to get trouble, the US will finally get serious trouble they won’t be able to cope with…Go back home guys before it’s too late. Same thing for “Jew disguised” Khazars.

The Objective

Feed this PR bullshit to your Shiite folks.

Andreas

No report from the Washington Post can be taken seriously as it has become an American deep state domestic propaganda outlet. Any such claim regarding Pompeo should be interpreted in terms of how it might discredit the Trump administration.

John

The Post sold out probably more than 50 years ago, at least in the time of Nixon. I tend to give credence to the effects of the attacks not by what is reported about Pompeo, pulling the embassy but, it is testimony to the serious problems it is creating for US forces in an asymetrical manner. My take Andreas.

verner

continuous needlepricks will wound the beast so it is forced to scamper back home, urgently. so, iraqi resistence, keep it up and soon the obese flatulent idiots will head for home and leaving the jews in palestine at the mercy of a hateful neighbourhood. you might say, there is no future for the jews in palestine!

Fog of War

No ‘merikans ever die in these attacks. Therefore, they are worthless. I wouldnt doubt the US is actually behind them as they need a reason to roll in troops closer to Iran for the upcoming ” festivities “.

John

it´s intentional, think about it.

Fog of War

Are you Autistic ? You’re telling me to think about someting I just described to you in detail ? Ther are some strange characters posting here.

John

No, not autistic. Think along asymetrical lines and you will get what I meant. If that doesn´t work, think about the 3 things an army needs to exist: B, B and B. That is the angle the atttacks are coming from.

I read your stuff.

Fog of War

These pin prick attacks are so ” powerful ” that they destroy a couple of tires and nothing else, not to mention they attack trucks driven by Iraqis with no US troops present. If you think they’re real you’re fooling yourself.

John

You still don´t get it. Don´t worry about it. It will sink in over time.

Fog of War

Save your breath.

John

For you, hardly but, there is hope.

Icarus Tanović

And waht they are gonna do there? No chance of land invasion of Iran. Check the stats.

HiaNd

If they really want war and need motive CIA could do false flag attacks and kill their own troops they are specialist in that! US did so many false flag attacks in their past including killing their own.

Fog of War

The are ” false flags ” and then there are ” minor false flags ” usually used as pretect for the major ones. This might be prep work for the ” main event “.

HiaNd

What else to expect as an answer in Fog of War

catalin zt

Smash the ugly head of the genocidal, terrorist, paedophile, perverspervert, satanic, illiterate anglo-saxon Snake! Next the World needs to NUKE all underground murican snake facilities deep in murica where their real bosses lives ! The Dracoreptilians and the Greys! Amen!

Aquilegia

These attacks don’t seem to cause that much damage so far, certainly not enough to disrupt any supply path. But on the other hand if the enemy is retreating why would one attempt to slow it down? Of course unless like Napoleon/Grand Armee retreat from Moscow, they can be cut off from supply and destroyed peace meal by steady and continuous attacks, but it doesn’t seem likely here.

Icarus Tanović

Great news, isn’t it, Ali?

Trump is worse than Bush

Bagdad want to be an Iranian colony. They behave like that.
