The Type 052C (NATO Luyang II-class destroyer) is a class of guided missile destroyers developed for the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy Surface Force. The Type 052C received a fixed active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar and a vertically launched surface-to-air missile system. The Type 052C became the first Chinese warship with an area air defense capability.
