The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on April 17 that its forces engaged two drones of the Houthis (Ansar Allah) a day earlier.
The drones were “successfully engaged” in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, the command said in a statement, noting that there were no injuries or damage reported by U.S., coalition, or commercial ships.
“It was determined the UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles] presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels in the region. These actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels,” the statement reads.
Also on April 16, Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV, which is run by the Houthis, reported that two “American-British” strikes hit the western province of al-Hodeidah.
The strikes targeted the district of Bajil, in the eastern countryside of the costal province, the news channel said without providing any further details.
The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have attacked dozens of vessels affiliated with Israel or owned by the U.S. and the United Kingdom in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since last November in response to the Israeli war and siege on the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
In an attempt to deter the Houthis, the U.S. and the UK have carried out more than 400 strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen since January. At least 37 people were killed and 30 others were wounded in these strikes. Nevertheless, the group remains undeterred.

men in sandals tend to do well against americans. in fact, america loves attacking countries with no air force and losing to them!
remind me of how many orders of magnitude the us spends to defeat each of these relatively low cost threats.
i still wondering what their real objective was in afghanistan. they were looking for something an artifact of some type. they also destroyed many historic sites. erasing ,destroying and twisting history is their m.o.
