On May 8th, on a distance of more than 100 nautical miles from Odessa, in the exclusive maritime economic zone of Ukraine, the flagship of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Service of Ukraine met the US Coast Guard vessel “Hamilton”.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian border guard:
“The American partners arrived in Ukraine on a friendly visit, which will include joint maneuvers at sea, trainings to exchange experience in observation and assault operations, and a business meeting of representatives of sea border guards and ensuring the safety of navigation of the two states,” the border guards said.
The State Border Service noted that the ships of the border departments of the United States and Ukraine at the crossing were practicing the actions coordination in the international tactical group. These actions were closely monitored and accompanied by Russian ships.
“The ships of the aggressor country either announced the fictitious coordinates of the closed areas, demanding to leave them, then they maneuvered dangerously and tried to artificially narrow the maneuver zone for the Ukrainian and American ships. They did not respond to calls through the channels of international maritime security. documented by Ukrainian border guards, “the State Border Service summed up.
Grigory Kuropyatnikov, the flagship of the State Border Guard Service, and the US Coast Guard ship Hamilton, remain at the Black Sea, continuing the joint exercises.
And, indeed, on May 10th, the USCGC Hamilton did port in Odessa.
