The House of Representatives of the US Congress has adopted a defense budget providing for tougher sanctions against Moscow.

316 people voted in favor, and 113 against.

In particular, the document includes amendments on expanding restrictions on Russia’s sovereign debt, on the possibility of introducing personal sanctions against a whole list of officials, as well as on new measures against Nord Stream 2.

The defense budget of about $780 billion has yet to pass Senate consideration and be signed by President Joe Biden before it becomes law.

On September 23rd it became known that the committee on regulations of the US House of Representatives approved a bill recommending the introduction of sanctions against 35 Russians involved, according to Washington, in human rights violations.

The list of sanctioned individuals may include Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, editor-in-chief of MIA Rossiya Segodnya and RT TV channel Margarita Simonyan, General Director of Channel One Konstantin Ernst and others.

The document was introduced as an amendment to the draft defense budget for the 2022 fiscal year. It will have to be approved by the full composition of the US Congress, but even then it will be advisory in nature.

The discussed sanctions against Nord Stream 2 are not so specific, they could be imposed against unnamed people who are involved in the planning, construction and operation of the pipeline. Both assets freeze and a ban on entry to the States are possible.

Finally, starting from the new fiscal year, it is proposed to prohibit the Americans from transactions with new sovereign Russian debt obligations, both in the primary and secondary markets.

The Foreign Ministry had earlier warned Washington against a rash step. The department suggested that everything that was happening was the result of an “acute staff shortage” in Washington in terms of specialists in Russia, since “only people who have no idea of Russian realities could compile such a list of persons in relation to topics to which none of them has and cannot have any direct or indirect relationship.”

Laughable weakness from the current american regime. Their sanctions accomplish nothing other than to spread propaganda and diversion from the countries internal problems and continuous decline in their quality of life.

Russia, China, Iran are on a different trajectory, one of prosperity and peace.
