For the second time this month, U.S. warplanes carried out an airstrike on an ISIS cell in the southwestern part of Libya. In an official statement, the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) said that the airstrike targeted the outskirt of the town of Murzuq.
“This airstrike was conducted to eliminate ISIS terrorists and deny them the ability to conduct attacks on the Libyan people,” said U.S. Anny Maj. Gen. William Gayle, director of operations, U.S. Africa Command. “This effort demonstrates the resolve of the U.S. and OW Libyan partners to deny safe havens to terrorists”
According to AFRICOM’s assessment, at least eleven terrorists of ISIS were killed in the Murzuq airstrike. No civilians were supposedly injured or killed.
On September 20, at least eight ISIS terrorists were killed in a U.S. airstrike that also targeted Murzuq. These repeated airstrikes indicate that the terrorist group is reorganizing its troops, likely to conduct new attacks in southern Libya.
The US has no right to bomb Libya, never had a right to bomb Libya and never had the right to overthrow the government of Libya or any other nation.
