U.S. Forces Established New Airfield In Northeast Syria – Report

U.S. forces have established a new airfield near the town of al-Ya’rubiyah in the northeastern al-Hasakah countryside, the Syrian state TV reported on July 1.

Citing local sources, the channel said the new airfield is located between the village of Umm Kuhif and the Tell Alo silos, 8 km south of al-Ya’rubiyah.

“The American occupation forces and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) units are deploying equipment, logistical materials, erecting concrete barriers, military barracks and asphalting the road leading to silos to serve the new illegal base,” the Syrian TV quoted one of the sources as saying.

According to the Syrian TV report, the new airfield is now being guarded by SDF units, which are stationed in the nearby silos.

Last year, the U.S.-led coalition abandoned a number of airfields and bases in Raqqa and Aleppo to facilitate a Turkish-led attack on the northeastern region. The Russian Military Police took over these positions.

By establishing a new airfield, U.S. forces are trying to solidify their influence in northeast Syria. The U.S. appears to be worried of the ever growing presence of Russian and Syrian government forces in the region.

I talked with the police at this location and thanked them for getting the problem corrected. They said that there were a few arrests but that everything went pretty smoothly.

This is the north edge of the park where the campground was. There are still tents up. But all of the campers have been evicted. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8b0b4153e01969f6e85b448fd6695acd56157a5b577c035ba5fc591be18d4a58.jpg

The northeast corner of the police station this morning from 1 block away. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0917bdfe90fcd1b99495c5ae354fd8e2b3184bd9585aaae74054553a8caa0ea3.jpg

The police that I talked with indicated that the situation had calmed down at the time that the station and neighborhood was turned over to the protesters. A records check should probably be done to see when the national guard was withdrawn. My recollection was that it occurred prior to the sedition zone being set up. And that the police had largely quelled the rioting. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/0917bdfe90fcd1b99495c5ae354fd8e2b3184bd9585aaae74054553a8caa0ea3.jpg

Iraq is a big part of the problem. They really need to get the US out. Which will end Israelistan KRG2 in Syria. Because the Kurdish secession effort will quickly collapse without US support. Which will also allow the Turks to withdraw.

Press TV is reporting that all of the arrested militia members, purportedly at US insistance, have been released.

Hahaha good luck with the Iraqis doing anything without me.

The police that I talked with said that they weren’t aware of any injuries during the clearing operation. There were dozens of officers on the scene when I did the walk around the zone this morning.

The police should break the heads of any protesters there, give them 10 minutes to leave and if not use brutal force. That will teach them a good lesson when they are sent to the hospital (or in better cases to the ground).

christianblood

That will create a storm of revolution across the US.

<>

It will create fear, which is exactly what the protesters need to feel right now.

christianblood

It could create fear but also it could create revolution. It can go both ways.

Didn’t know CHAZ could relocate so quickly to Syria!

the more than dumb yankee-twats are attempting to prop up a kurdish movement in the northeast and thus indirectly the jews in palestine – it won’t work since sooner rather than later syria and assad and turkey and erdogan and iraq and iran will put their minds on the kurdish issue and demand that they return to being tenants on the borders of turkey, syria and so on. the proceeds from the oil the more than dumb morons are stealing from the syrian people won’t suffice to keep the kurds alive and independent.

Saddam Hussein

The US wont leave without getting kicked out. The SAA need to step up their game.
