U.S. Forces To Establish Military Post Near Syria’s Qamishli: Monitoring Group

The U.S.-led coalition is working to establish a new military post in near the border city of Qamishli in northeast Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on November 2.

“According to the Syrian Observatory’s information, the post will be established today, Saturday. A U.S. force will move from al-Hasakah to Qamishli to establish a permanent post there,” the UK-based monitoring group’s report reads.

In the afternoon, a U.S. unit arrived in the town of Heemo, 4km to the west of Qamishli, where it conducted a patrol. The town already hosts a military post of the U.S.-led coaltion.

U.S. forces withdrew last month from several bases in northern al-Hasakah as a part of the withdrawal order, that facilitated a Turkish-led attack on northeast Syria. Now, Washington is working to solidify its military presence in the region.

Sources in Deir Ezzor reported that the U.S. may be preparing to establish a large base in a former Syrian air-defense site in the governorate. U.S. is openly working to take control of all oil fields in northeast Syria.

F..k the US. And the Kremlin idiots who still want to reach a detente with it.

Jens Holm

Alaska takes the Jihadists, Sibiria take Assads and Mexicans takes Syria:)

Willing Conscience (The Truths

The cost of protecting Syrian oilfields compared to their profitability isn’t really worth the US effort, especially if the pro Assad Arab militia’s or Isis start destroying them, and I’m sure they will when they can.

PZIVJ

“especially if the pro Assad Arab militia’s start destroying them” Yes. I left out “or ISIS” Not sure how you came up with that one. It is Syria’s goal to liberate and repair the oilfields. But of course the Zionist controlled US wants to prevent this. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/first-images-us-troops-occupying-syrias-oil-fields-cause-outrage

Willing Conscience (The Truths

I don’t think Trump wants the oil at all, I think he just wants to stop Erdogan getting to it. The oil Trumps securing first is in the north east right near the Turkish border, and there’s not that much there from what I’ve read, most of it’s in the southern areas of Al Hasakah. So I wonder why Trump’s secured the oil to the north first, if Assad was the one he was most worried about he should’ve secured the oil closer to SAA held territory, which is where most of the oil in Al Hasakah is. It cost the US 15 bill a year to stay in Syria, and according to a SF article just yesterday, the Kurds only make less than 10% of that out of the oil, so it will cost the US ten times as much as they’ll make out of selling the oil to keep them. And that’s only if they’re not being blown up every second day, or the pipelines that run for miles through open desert aren’t being blown up as well.

Jens Holm

There we go again. You insist in some small lousy oilfields has anything to do with economy, because Your infame teacher told You so.

That local oil is blocked, because USA and several others block for assads having any of it.

No matter what, they didnt retreat because of someone like You. If any its because of not being in crambolage with the barking mad Turks.

And every time USA are peaceful and nice, You seemes to have forgotten, what they did last time.

What happen last time You flee market almost came near the Omar field ???? Next time Damaskus might be a lake in stead of an oasis.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Everything changes just like the weather does, and believe it or not, so do countries and governments, especially the democratic ones, one day you have a left leaning socialist government in power, the next day you might get a far right fascist one, everything changes. If anyone other than Trump had won the US election, do you think both the Israeli and US governments would have said back in June last year, “Assad can remain in power”, and do you think US troops would have been pulled out of Syria at all, I don’t, I think even more troops would’ve been there, things change. Trumps not an angel or a Messiah I know, but he hates the US being involved in foreign wars and he also hates spending money on them, that’s the best offer any of us have had in 30 years. A US president who doesn’t want to go to war with anyone, not even Iran, he pulls out the lollies instead of a gun, so why does everyone seem to have a problem with him, so what if he’s egotistical and opinionated, not so smart, talks and writes like a uneducated hillbilly, brags about things he shouldn’t brag about, makes fun of people he shouldn’t make fun of, at least he’s not a murderer. A greedy businessman who doesn’t want to make money out of killing people, I can’t help but to like him. But that doesn’t mean the whole US government has changed, Trump won’t be able to drain the swamp in 3 consecutive presidencies let alone 2, but maybe another wild card will emerge when Trump finally has to go, who knows, things change all the time, maybe the US government will too eventually.

Ronald

It’s been my understanding that Qamishli and its oil fields are SAA controlled throughout the war, and that there is an existing pipeline to Damascus or there about. Anyone with information.

Jens Holm

If You wish, You can find good maps.

Its true there are 2 main lines there. One goes from Hasaka by Dez and T2 Palmyra.

The other goes from Jizira in north where new fundings are made but dont produce much – yet. That or those lines goes west of Hasaka and – as I recall it – cross Tabqa Dam.

It would be very strange Assads until now controlled any of that, because they dont posses all the way.

RichardD

Trump’s about face on the withdrawal is just further Yinon plan machination to keep Israel’s adversaries busy fighting each other so that they don’t unify and get the region’s Jew problem corrected.
