On November 7, U.S. envoy to Syria James Jeffrey said that Washington hopes that Russia will continue to allow Israel to strike Iranian forces in Syria, despite the recent tension over the downing of the Il-20 plane.
“Russia has been permissive, in consultation with the Israelis, about Israeli strikes against Iranian targets inside Syria. We certainly hope that that permissive approach will continue,” Jeffrey said in a conference call with reporters, according to the Reuters news agency.
Jeffery went on to stress that the U.S. understands and respects Israel’s efforts to prevent Iran from deploying advanced weapons in Syria or supplying them to Hezbollah through the war torn country.
“Israel has an existential interest in blocking Iran from deploying long-range power projection systems … inside Syria to be used against Israel. We understand the existential interest and we support Israel,” said Jeffery.
Earlier, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed that Israeli actions have put lives of Russian troops in Syria in a danger “in a number of cases.” The minister also said that the use of force wouldn’t resolve Israeli security concerns and could only foment regional tensions.
Following the downing of the Russian plane, on September 17, Russia supplied Syria with the advanced S-300 air defense system. Since then, Israel has ceased its operations in the war-torn country.

It is well established Israel is a firm ally of the U.S.. Similarly, the actions of Israel (having an adversarial/hostile intent) are incompatible with (disingenuous) conciliatory rhetoric by various officials (conforming to deception). The move by Russia to compromise Israeli strikes against targets in Syria is arguably necessary to prevent a serious escalation while sending a clear message that the death of Russian servicemen due to offensive Israeli military operations will see appropriate responses. Any potential easing of restriction of Israeli aggression would be incompatible with these factors.

Before Il-20 Russia was allowing Israel to do (to bomb) Syria as she wanted wherever she wanted and whenever she wanted (she because Israel is a women),, but now, that Russia has realized that Israel planned carefully this plot against its army, I do not know. That depends on how strong is the jews influence with Putin.
You don’t build an integrated air defense system overnight. Syria’s air defense is the first thing that the terrorists took down. Now it’s been rebuilt and upgraded. Making it much more difficult for the baby rapers to violate Syrian airspace. Russia’s mission was to roll back the terrorist advances, not keep the Jews at bay. It didn’t and still doesn’t have the equipment in theater to police all of Syria’s airspace all of the time and run combat operations against the terrorists. Russia can and is enforcing a partial no fly zone over part of Syria and has been for a few years. That doesn’t include east of the river, Lebanon, Israel, or the sea.
Syria has over 1,000 air defense systems that are now being integrated together and with the Russian satcom network. There’s no need for Russia to secure Syria’s skys when the Syrian’s can do it themselves with their own equipment.
Did Russia tell them to take their troops and Wahhabi extremist mercenaries, OUT of Syria and OFF Syrian oil fields, STEALING Syrian WEALTH so they cant rebuild their country? Did the Russians tell the kazharian squatters to get OFF the stolen Golan?
