The Pentagon is considering a proposal by Boeing to supply Ukraine with rocket-propelled precision-guided bombs that would allow Kiev forces to strike far behind Russian lines, Reuters reported on November 28.
Sources in the United States military industrial complex told the news agency that Boeing’s proposed system, dubbed Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB), is one of about a half-dozen plans for getting new munitions into production for Ukraine and Washington’s allies in East Europe.
The GLSDB, which was developed by Boeing and Sweden’s Saab, combines the GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) with the M26 rocket motor.
The 129-kilogram SDB is guided by a GPS-aided inertial navigation system. The gild bomb can hit targets 150 kilometers away when launched by the M26 rocket motor as a part of the GLSDB system.
Unlike traditional artillery weapons, the GLSDB offers 360-degree coverage for high and low angles of attack, flying around terrain to hit targets on the back of mountains, or circling back around to a target behind the launch vehicle.
The system non-ballistic trajectory makes its more flexible, but its low speed means that it will be more exposed to air defense fire.
Kiev forces will be able to launch the GLSDB from its newly-acquired M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS).
Both the SDB and the M26 are common in the US arsenal. The system could be delivered to Kiev forces by early 2023 using surplus bombs from the conflict in Afghanistan.
Although the United States has rebuffed Ukraine’s requests for the ATACMS tactical missile that has a range of 297 kilometers, the GLSDB’s 150 kilometer range would allow Ukraine to hit valuable Russian targets. From the outskirts of the city of Kherson, the system can reach military positions, key facilities and urban centers in the Crimean Peninsula.
Supplying Ukraine with the GLSDB system would be a major escalation on the part of the U.S. Russia will likely respond in a way or another.

With the US Congress adding $45billion to their military budget and dramatically expanding training of Ukrainian soldiers, the situation resembles the Ukraine´s preparations to invade the Donbass back in February. Further, there are calls from NATO to allow the Ukraine to directly strike into Russian territory proper. Not true. They also have a large number of Jews and German engineers – mostly people who ran from Germany due to lack of opportunity, or for eg. religious reasons (ie, Christian fundamentalists). And they did some good engineering, as you can see in many instances. Just claiming that they can’t do it, then be complacent, is the way straight to doom.
It looks like standard mission creep to me. It seems they are intent on trying degrade Russia’s AD, by getting them to use their stock. I doubt this would work, as the west is quickly using their stock. They would have to have a huge reserve to mount an attack on Russia. Russia, it seems, is able to produce enough to keep up with demand, but for how long is the west’s question. To prevent a successful attack on Crimea and elsewhere, they would have to strengthen their defense, likely using more AD missiles. This likely is the west’s only hope to be able to bring Russia down. Never happen. It’s doubtful Iran or China would stand idly by as well. No doubt the US has had this thought as well, hence the US/Israeli training to attack Iran that began recently. No doubt Iran has had the same thoughts as well, hence the attacks on the Kurds, another Zionist proxy.

The GLSDB is actually a hard target to intercept. Once the SDB separates from the M26 it’s a cold target with non ballistic trajectory. Cold targets are harder to track and SDB is cold, small, composite and has an non ballistic trajectory which all makes it harder to defend against. I’m not saying it can’t be done but it’s harder, i also think they would use GLSDB to target Russian air-defenses with coordinates provided by NATO.

They have been armed and preparing for the war against russia for many years.
