U.S. President Donald Trump approved a cyber-attack that targeted missile and rocket control systems of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Washington Post reported on June 22.
Sources affiliated with the issue told Washington Post that the attack was conducted on June 20 by the U.S. Cyber Command (CYBERCOM) in coordination with the military’s Central Command (CENTCOM). According to the sources, the attack was in the works “for weeks if not months.”
The idea of launching a cyber-attack on Iran was reportedly suggested by the Pentagon following the recent attack on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, a week before the downing of the U.S. spy drone off Iran’s shores.
Washington Post said that the cyber-attack was crippling to Iran’s military command and control systems. However, no one was injured or killed.
“This is not something they can put back together so easily,” one of the sources told the Washington-based newspaper.
Last April, the U.S. designated the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organization, which explains how Trump was able to authorize such a large-scale covert attack.
Earlier this week, Trump revealed that he ordered a strike on Iran, but then called it back when he learned that it could lead to a high number of casualties. The cyber-attack was apparently the alternative.
Iran, which is known for conducting cyber activities against U.S. military and intelligence assets in the Middle East, has not commented on the Washington Post’s report, so far.
I suppose all Iranian military communication systems are just protected by bog standard McAfee anti virus software. No special protections at all. After all a cyber attack from the USA would be something they never could have expected.
SAM systems don’t operate on interconnected a fibre optic grid unless they are connected and even then the grid is turned off when in action.. They have their own localized radar and launch sequences. The Iranians are so confident about their systems that they only fired one missile with 100% accuracy. This is all embarrassed Americunt sour grapes and I am ROFLMAO for 4 days now :)

Iraq has called for enhanced cooperation with neighboring Iran in the area of air defense, days after Tehran successfully thwarted an American spying mission by downing a sophisticated surveillance drone over Iranian territorial waters.

Such cooperation, he said, would encompass such areas as production, training, logistical support in various fields, including electronic warfare operations, radar operation, optical surveillance, command and control, radar calculations, and software.

Operation within a battery (“master-slave”): One armored vehicle operates both as combat vehicle and as “master” command post. Then the combat vehicles acting as “slave” receive target designation data from the “master” radar console and subsequently fulfil all the combat operation stages and individual launch sequence.
The Iranians have 3 Sayyed or Taer missiles on the Khordad 3 and each can be fired individually when a target is locked in by the radar tracking unit. The Iranians normally keep their SAM systems well camouflaged and hidden and only wheeled out the mobile Khordad battery a few minutes before shooting down the hapless US junk. The Kolchuga or the S-300 FLAP LID-B radar would have tracked the drone from its origination in UAE as the Iranian tracking map clearly show. The Americunts are pathetic liars.

According to Janes which is a Brit biased source, the Iranians have captured enough sensitive parts and are analyzing them with Russians and Chinese who are extremely interested to know how Iran managed to shoot down the most sophisticated Americunt drone that has very good electronic counter measures. RQ-4’s integrated AN/ALR-89 defensive suite includes a Radar Warning Receiver that likely alerted the drone’s operators of the incoming threat. Unable to outrun the incoming missiles, the operators likely activated the ALR-89’s radar-jamming self-defense system.
Whatever evasive measures were taken did not prove adequate to deflect the modern Iranian Khordad 3. The Mach 4.5 Sayyad-2C missile caught the lumpy drone with its full blast, bringing the more than $130 million surveillance system crashing into the Iranian shores of the Persian Gulf near the Straits of Hormuz.
