The U.S.-led coalition withdrew in the morning of October 16 from the Kharab Ashk military base in the eastern Aleppo countryside.
According to the Hawar News Agency (ANHA), the coalition destroyed the large base after completing the withdrawal process.
“Coalition forces destroyed the base after moving as much as it could equipment out of it,” the agency’s report reads.
The agency, which is affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), released a video showing the withdrawal process. The footage shows black smoke rising from the base, which was located inside the Lafarge cement factory.
Kharab Ashk was one of the first major U.S. bases in Syria. Dozens of U.S. and even French troops were deployed in the base, which also hosted several attack and transportation helicopters of the coalition air force.
The coalition began withdrawing its troops from northeastern Syria earlier this month under orders from President Donald Trump. The withdrawal facilitated a Turkish-led offensive against the U.S.-backed SDF in the region.
US military certainly likes to destroy Syrian public and private property and infrastructure.
LaFarge (french) was made by occupying French along with US coalition where they supplied their homegrown ISIS with underground network of tunnels, equipment, arms etc. LaFarge has been no friend of Syria or Turkey. https://www.dailysabah.com/business/2018/02/17/turkeys-security-concerns-continue-as-lafarge-contracts-with-terrorist-groups-in-syria-remain-secret
One of the many U.S bases worldwide that will be burnt to the ground in the future. With the upcoming debt and currency crisis that will engulf the U.S who will lend them the money anymore to run such a massive military budget. Certainly not China or Russia, and the U.S vassal states like France are also broke.
I think there is also an element of burning evidence…
More like standard procedure to not let the enemy (in this case Turks and Jihadi proxys) get their hands on it. The evidence would be on CIA bases anyway, not army bases.
nice try…it was in the jihadi/SDF/YPG/et al hands anyway. they didn’t bother with burning this base… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp1BHywT2EI
I guess they burned the cement factory that would be needed for rebuilding Syria. I wonder if they pay for damages to LafargeHolcim. This is the cement factory that remained open during the Daesh occupation and was blamed for paying tax to Daesh. I guess they do what they can to stop the rebuilding of Syria.
i guess cement shipped from China would be cheaper, than buying from french assholes´factory
F’n right, spot on!
Than locally created cement made i Syria? I don’t think imported chines cement would be cheaper..
I daresay that the Lafarge works will also have been made inoperable. This works was supplying ISIS for a few years. The French company is, or was, being prosecuted for this in France.
It is illegal for the French to sell cement? pffft
Selling to ISIS was then, and still is illegal, Joe. Its a UN sanction. pffft Lafarge is being prosecuted in France for doing this.
Good to hear.
Selling cement isn’t a crime, paying them protection money is.
Lafarge sold cement and paid protection money and both of those actions were contrary to the UN mandate.
UN mandate has no bearing in criminal court.
UN sanctions then.
The UN doesn’t have enforcement power.
I think Selfish Jensen feels good.
It Demonstrate Jealousy, greediness, selfishness, hatreds, bossy and destructive and unhappiness.
They burned all equipment they have to left..they dont want another syrian or russian reporters checking coffee cups or Tv’s in the abandoned base like yesterday near manjib XD
Considering all the stuff that has been picked up over the last couple of years, I wonder what was so important at that base, that they did not want to be discovered?
When we have won the battle over the terrorists, America and its Allies always leave. We never occupy and glue ourselves to a country. We leave the country to freedom after we cleaned out the evils and we leave it to call and Internationally legally invite America, if they again need Americas help against the terrorists. America won again! As also Stallone and our guys did it in Afghanistan and Vietnam!
Haha, how long have you been in Iraq and Aghanistan?
