U.S.-led coalition fighter jets and drones violated Syria airspace over the southeastern area of al-Tanf 478 times during August, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, revealed during a briefing on September 2.

“The number of violations, connected to sorties of ‘coalition’ aircraft in the Al-Tanf area, has increased significantly compared to last year. In August, 2023, 478 such cases were registered,” Kulit said.

The commander added that, in the past 24 hours, coalition fighter jets and drones created dangerous situations 18 times over. He also noted 10 violations of deconflicting protocols by coalition drones.

In recent weeks, the Russian Center for Reconciliation reported several cases in which Russian warplanes were harassed by U.S. F-35 fighter jets and MQ-9 combat drones over Syria. In some of these cases, Russian pilots barely avoided a collision.

The U.S.-led coalition maintains a garrison in al-Tanf with a 55-kilometer no-fly zone around. In addition, it keeps a network of bases at key oil and gas fields in the northeastern governorates of Deir Ezzor and al-Hasakah. This presence, which is allegedly directed against ISIS, is not sanctioned by the Syrian government who considers the coalition an occupation force.

On the other side, the Russian military operates against ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria under an agreement with the government.

The U.S. attempts to expand its aerial operations over Syria without coordination with the Russian side could eventually lead to a dangerous escalation.

try flying an f35 or f16 close to hmeimim airbase then, 40n6 missile will swat you out of the sky before you can parachute. russian af controls airspace in agreement all the way up to euphrates (east is controlled by us/nato) and even then, ruaf flies freely at will over al tanf and east euphrates.

funny how russia flies whenever they want over al-tanf and east euphrates, even bombing fsa/nusra hideouts in al-tanf. nato/usa fags don’t dare do shit. meanwhile usa has to always ask for permission from ruaf command in hmeimim to fly drones over idlib so they don’t get swatted by s400

russia has thousands of s-300pt, s300pm, s300pm2 launchers in storage reserve. they can easily transfer to syrian air defense at least 10-20 battalions of s-300pt or pm variant. station them at strategic locations in camouflage, keep fire control radar off, use vhf anti-stealth long range p-18 to look for air targets, briefly turn on s-300 fcr, then engage, shoot and scoot. just like the ukrops do with their s300’s. what is the wait? give syria their s-300 batteries! :)

true. one battery 8 launchers, 1 30n6 tombstone fire control radar, 1 clam shell acquisition radar. with just 10 batteries (80 launchers) of s-300pm, syrian ad can control entire airspace. 150km range missile. russia has so many s-300 in storage they can donate 50 batteries to syria (400 launchers) if they really wanted. idf terror strikes would become useless lot less effective.
