The U.S.-led coalition operating against ISIS in Iraq and Syria has reportedly moved its headquarters from the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to Kuwait.

Tõnu Miil, an Estonian army colonel who is serving as a senior staff officer at the coalition, told the Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) on January 8 that the headquarters was moved from Baghdad’s Green Zone over the last few days.

“We flew by night. Most of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) in Baghdad’s Green Zone decided to move to Kuwait and it has been done over several days. I arrived in Kuwait early on Wednesday morning and the OIR headquarters are being re-organized here,” Miil told ERR over the phone.

The Estonian commander added that the headquarters will be re-established in the coming days, stressing that the move was “all about keeping people safe.”

Early in the morning, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched over a dozen of missiles on bases hosting U.S.-led coalition personnel in northern and western Iraq. The Pentagon and the US-led coalition denied any casualties among their  personnel in initial statements.

The missile strike was Iran’s response to the assassination of Quds Force commander Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani. The senior commander was killed in earlier this month in U.S. airstrikes on the Baghdad international airport.

panties pissed, it seems

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

i have the feeling that the hit on qassam was a spiteful parting shot for pulling out.

only other options are:

Americans really are that arrogant they mistakenly thought they could deal easily with any fall out

or

Trump is a neo con and is happy to fill bodybags for mossad’s meatgrinder

russ

Its more of an and/or situation. Kind of dumb to stand there with the arms by our sides having a glass jaw(Patriot batteries)

Tom Tom

All American presidents are neo-cons. Bush (Iraq/Afghan), Obomber (Libya, Syria, Yemen), Trump (all of the above, plus maybe Iran). Mossad’s meatgrinder is the point.

US is proved weaker than a paper tiger.

US won’t leave, until they will be under fire from every direction, like the fall of Saigon in 1975.

The optics are more important than the reality on the ground to US leaders.

Like having an armoured battalion sitting in the Syrian desert guarding oil wells from ISIS.

Any effort to repair oil fields or steal oil can be easily monitored by satellite and drones and whoever is doing it is out in the open so Russian, Syrian or Coalition air strikes could easily deal with them so what other reason is there to make a show out of deploying a very resource hungry unit in the desert except for the optics.

So then they overreact to a few rockets hurled into a US base by killing Iraqi soldiers and an Iranian general and the cost and difficulty of supplying those units in the desert just went up exponentially, but when you listen to the bullshit coming from Trump and Pompeau it’s all abut the optics. Trump’s now a war president and untouchable in his eyes and the eyes of his base.

They would rather stay in Iraq and Syria and look tough drawing fire and ire rather than regroup to a location that keeps US personel out of harms way, reassess their options and plan a new strategy that doesn’t include an all out war with Iran and Iraq as well as setting the entire middle east on fire.

I guess that’s all well and good but at some point there has to be a reckoning of the millions of lives lost over the years just to make US presidents look like leaders.

Yeah, most likely the CIA-led elements will try to stick around Saigon-style. But it looks like at least Gen. Seely is/was trying to head back to the reservation. Oddly enough, Seely was born in Saigon.

russ

I imagine Seely is a “was” after that little stunt for peace…

badgery

Sadly, yeah. CENTCOM guys are still probably bouncing off the walls after that shit. But it’s interesting that he did manage to fly his HQ out of Iraq by night as advertised in his letter.

You can call me Al

You Yanks / Jews lost that war as well.

russ

Don’t You Yanks me… Britain is the one controlling us. LOL.

You can call me Al

Shush, not yet.

iran just proved they can reach any usa base in the ME

USA do not have russian made air defense systems in their bases it seems.

even Russia have not directly attacked USA military in the ME, and iran just said its game on

antoun

Run like rats, you shit.

Hopefully Iraq will have a full tour of the US HQ and enjoy finding the gifts they left behind, if they have actually left.

Do like this interesting article and the US version of Diplomacy (not). I seriously wonder how Sergey Lavrov and the Russian politicians retain their sense of humour and diplomatic skills, when dealing with either the Pentagon or Washington DC.

I read that article too. That was a shakedown pure and simple.

Assad must stay

estonia? wtf are you doing there lol

goingbrokes

Good question. These are paid positions of course. US is always looking for chances to expand their officer fraternity to post-Soviet countries like Estonia by sending them on various missions like this “training”. From that friendship NATO is supposed to grow.

Assad must stay

i never knew how many different countries were involved there, especially now as US is starting to leave hopefully
