On January 20, the U.S. Department of State released a fact sheet under the title Fact vs. Fiction: Russian Disinformation on Ukraine. The document is aimed at unveiling the alleged Russia’s propaganda campaign over Ukraine.
In fact, this sheet is nothing more but a short list of some claims expressed by Russian top leaders relating to the risk of escalation of the armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine. The quotes largely reflect Moscow’s official position, which explicitly states the discontent with the continued expansion of NATO.
In response to the allegedly false quotes of the Russian leadership, the State Department cites the same old facts that are steadily repeated by mainstream media, starting from the already distant ‘invasion’ of Crimea and ending with the recent alleged deployment of Russian troops on Russia’s western borders.
The document clearly represents the discourses applied by the two sides at the official level. Washington simply ignores any international norms and attempts to expose the official position of the opposing country, which is consistently and openly stated at all negotiating platforms, as propaganda.
Anyone who has the opportunity to sensibly listen not only Biden’s speeches, but also the Putin’s ones, will not find any specific facts of disinformation in the document. But surely he will see the facts of Washington’s outright lies.

It is surprising that, quoting Russian President Vladimir Putin, Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Ryabkov or Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the State Department refers to specialized Russian military and intelligence units that are allegedly “engaged in information confrontation targeting Ukraine”, and which were figured out by joint efforts by the Department of State and all other U.S. agencies.
Considering the sources cited by the State Department, VOA, BBC, Jerusalem Post are the Kremlin intelligence structures that spread lies and propaganda attempting to paint Ukraine and Ukrainian government officials as the aggressor?!
The words “Russian propaganda” seem to be Washington’s tool aimed at turning its official statements into art opuses, as according to the modern style of the US state fiction, any story should include the “terrible Russian propaganda” created by specially trained Russian intelligence officers and hackers who work day and night in classified military bunkers. Otherwise, no one is interested in reading these fairy tales.

The fact sheet was published on the eve of the meeting of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Geneva on January 21.
On the same day, on January 20, Blinken made a direct appeal to the Russian people to oppose any intervention.

Such a call on the youth is a classic method of military propaganda, which was used in the WWI and was actively exploited as one of the main logics by the Third Reich in the WWII.
The bloody war in the East of Ukraine has been going on for eight years, so why had not the peace-loving Blinken ever call on Ukrainian soldiers to move away from the borders of the LPR and the DPR and start fighting global climate change? It seems that he was too busy calculating the billions of dollars that the United States allocates for the weapons supply to the Kiev regime. In such a case, it is impossible to be distracted on peaceful appeals, because the funds are growing too fast.
Unfortunately, amid attempts by Moscow and the Washington-led West to find any common ground for building some dialogue, and pessimistic forecasts for these diplomatic efforts, Washington’s next attack, in which it openly accuses the top leadership of the state, with which it is negotiating, of lying, is not constructive at all. Apparently, Washington forces are still weaker in term of information warfare than the “terrible Russian propaganda”. As for their military forces, the sides will have to match strength with each other very soon.
