U.S. Says Russian Initiative To Evacuate Al-Rukban Camp Does Not Meet "Protection Standards”

A spokesman for the U.S. Department of State said on March 1 that the Russian-sponsored initiatives to evacuated the civilians trapped in the al-Rukban refugee camp does not meet “protection standards”

“The U.S. supports the U.N .call for a durable solution for al-Rukban in line with protection standards and coordinated with all parties. Unilateral Russian initiatives, not coordinated with the U.N. and regional parties, do not meet these standards,” Robert Palladino said on Twitter.

The al-Rukban camp, which is located within the US-occupied area of al-Tanf in southeastern Syria, is hosting more than 45,000 displaced civilians. These civilians suffer from the shortage in water, food and the lack of proper medical care. Probably, Palladion believes that these conditions meet with the “protection standards” of the U.S.

Few hours before, Palladino’s remarks, the Damascus government sent a convoy to evacuate the civilians willing to leave the al-Rukban camp. However, the U.S. didn’t cooperate with the initiative, despite that a recent survey has shown that the vast majority of the camp’s residents want to leave.

Chief of Russia’s National Defense Control Center (NDCC) Col. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev had called on the U.S. to collaborate with the initiative to evacuate the al-Rukban camp.

“You [the U.S.] have to prove, with actions and not words, that you are willing to work for the good of the Syrians,” quoted Col. Gen. Mizintsev said.

Despite these efforts, the U.S. appears to be determined to keep the civilians trapped in the al-Rukban camp, likely to use them as a tool to pressure the Damascus government and justify the illegal military presence in al-Tanf.

Always bad news from “over there”. But Wall Street is happy.

An issue is that most people in the US,UK and probably the EU, have NO idea where Syria is, even if they have heard of the country and even fewer would know anything about the de facto, al-Rubkan Concentration camp that is guarded by the United states Military.

“…Despite these efforts, the U.S. appears to be determined to keep the civilians trapped in the al-Rukban camp, likely to use them as a tool to pressure the Damascus government and justify the illegal military presence in al-Tanf…”

Nope – no way in hell. The US doesn’t even try to justify its presence in at Tanf any more – everyone knows why they’re there. The justification now is “because we don’t want to leave”.

A few years back, CENTCOM was using some weak logic about protecting the Rukban Death Camp, but that’s when it was mostly fleeing FSA. I think the idea back then was to transfer them into eastern Jordan to their own settlement, kind of like the US did with ‘important’ Saddam Baathists (CIA assets) during the Iraq invasion. They have their own little town. Jordan must have pushed back (or maybe the Baathist settlement did). At that point, the US plan B was probably hoping to return them to ‘liberated’ Syria. At least until the Russians showed up and cancelled all dimwit US/Israeli ‘plans’. Damn you, Putin!

Everyday, the Yankers fall to a new low level of humanity, conscience, depravity and hypocrisy. If they do not play ball, try or stop you, square off to you; kill them and send the Migs in to finish their little camp off.

Well, you must be ware the from any psycopata you will never know that woul be his reaction.

Russia needs to lift its game and play a more assertive role in liberating Syria from US and NATO illegal occupation forces. Russian hesitancy in launching an offensive in Idlib and east Euphrates is only emboldening US.

Why it gets good publicity trying to rescue the people, whilst the US looks like the prick it is. War is about a lot more than just shooting.

Being Western anti-Russia troll why would you care for all that?

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

The corruption and total debasement of “Western values” by the US Evil Empire is totally astonishing. Their “leaders” are drowning in a sea of self-serving justification for world domination. These mini-Nazis are heading for a massive collapse as their Master race (exceptional) ideology is being daily exposed around the world. It is clear that the US Evil Empire is using 40,000 people in Al-Tanf as human shields and a place to hide their IS spawn. Truly disgusting. Meanwhile, the entire UK media and political class demonises an IS mother, while more than 20,000 IS fighters and supporters freely roam UK cities. Amazing! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47299907

Washington is holding these 45,000 civilians hostage. The Neocons’ terrorist proxies can not survive without their human shields protecting them.

Carol Davidek-Waller

There is nothing wrong Russian evacuation standards as evidenced by their humanitarian efforts before military action (unlike the US). The US uses the refugee camp as a human shield. They recruit and ‘opposition’ soldiers (terrorists) from the refugee population.

Zionism = EVIL

Americunts humiliating their Russian “partners” again. Putin must kiss more Americunt/Zionist arse.

There is a major difference between wanting to leave and being able to. As implied but not stated, it is not safe outside the camp as all sorts of highway robbers abound in Syria and Iraq. A similar situation exists in refugee camps in Iraq, where some do make their way home but many are tied down by things like lack of money or medical needs and the normalized extortion the locals perpetrate on each other.

As the US continues it’s myopic propaganda against Syria, maybe they should review US treasury dept statements in relation to Venezuela: “These officials are involved in corruption & blocking the delivery of critical humanitarian aid, exacerbating the ongoing humanitarian crisis.” That this is beyond hypocrisy is irrelevant, apparently. “The U.S. supports the U.N. call for a durable solution for al-Rukban in line with protection standards and coordinated with all parties.” Translation; They need the UN to run this op so that they can disseminate their terrorists into Syria proper to continue their terrorist mission. “Unilateral Russian initiatives, not coordinated with the U.N. and regional parties, do not meet these standards,” Translation; We made sure the UN wouldn’t be there so we could block this effort because the Russians and Syrians won’t let our terrorists loose to continue terrorizing Syria. Combine this with the Turkey/US/Kurd circus of lies and it is clear the US is far from leaving. But, I do like the idea of Russia and Syria making this effort which will show the rest of the propagandized world the hypocrisy of the US…especially when viewed in the context of the US/Venezuela confrontation. This move is clearly designed to expose the US hypocrisy through MSM media creep. Sooner or later, the general public will not be able to ignore this and that seems to be the goal. Cockroaches hate being exposed to light.

John Whitehot

The US is at the pinnacle of international law and humanitarian efforts.

Forbidding refugees to return to their homes, so to keep them as human shields or possible targets of terrorists, or who knows, to be targeted for false flag ops (like in, the USAF bombs the refugee camp and then goes “That devilish Assad together with Russia bombed innocent refugees).

Besides, these refugees refused to support the foreign aggression on Syria, and chose to go back to their homes – something that the freedom-loving, democracy-exporting leaders of the US military and congressmen cannot leave unpunished.

And then they go around the world wondering why everybody hates them.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

When the Rukban camp is finally dismantled and the refugees ‘properly’ vetted by Russian and Syrian authorities, there’ll be a treasure trove of information available on insurgent activities and their links to foreign governments, the ‘pre Trump era’ US relationship to Isis in particular.
