A U.S. Service Member who was advising Iraqi security forces was killed on August 10 during a mission in northern Iraq, according to the U.S.-led coalition.
“One U.S. service member died today during an Iraqi Security Force mission in Ninewah province, Iraq, while advising and accompanying the (Iraqi security forces) during a planned operation,” the coalition said in an official statement.
The coalition added that the name of the service member will be withheld until notification of next of kin.
According to the Department of Defense (DoD), 84 U.S. service members have been killed since the beginning of anti-ISIS operations in Iraq and Syria in 2014.
Around 5,000 U.S. troops are currently deployed in Iraq to train, advise, and assist the country’s military and security forces in the fight against ISIS. Most of U.S. forces are stationed in Ain Assad airbase in the northern province of al-Anbar.
Not 84 while thousands US troops have been eliminated in Iraq. Showing reduced numbers to raise the US forces moral. Sorry I am not rude but this is fact on the ground.
Erdogan + Saudis + Israel + US + NATO = ISIS
“Around 5,000 U.S. troops are currently deployed in Iraq”
1 down another 5,000 to take down…keep up good work!
D*mn you were faster than me…I had exactly the same thoughts….Bring in Mo’ Bodybags….
another under-educated yank from the flyover states where options are either meth-maker or the marines, but no school or healthcare or access to a non-prejudiced legal system and thus in general a shitty life if they decide to stay on.
Backing Sunni terrorists can be dangerous work sometimes. They’re so stupid they sometimes turn on their masters.
Those 5,000 are walking dead, under blackmail from Israel, they are careful not to end up like the sailors of the USS liberty.
