U.S. Suspends Participation In INF Treaty, Will Leave It In 180 Days

UPDATE: The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the move by saying that the US had provided no evidence confirming the Russian violations of the INF Treaty besides “tweets”.

Konstantin Kosachev, head of the Russian Senate’s International Affairs Committee said that Washington merely “confirmed its determination to deal a final blow to yet another important pillar of the international arms control system.” He added that this puts US allies in Europe into a very dangerous situation.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also has what to say:

***

The US has suspended its participation in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on February 1.

He added that it may return to the agreement in 180 days if Russia meets its demands – the “verifiably” destruction of “INF-violating missiles, their launchers and associated equipment”.

“The US… suspends its obligations under the INF Treaty effective February 2,” Pompeo told journalists. “If Russia does not return to full and verifiable compliance with the treaty within the six-month period by verifiably destroying its INF-violating missiles, their launchers and associated equipment, the treaty will terminate.”

Pompeo claimed that Russia is “brazenly” and “shamelessly” violating the agreement. He added that Russia should change its course from what he called “destabilizing activity not only on this issue but on other issues as well.”

The White House website released “Statement from the President Regarding the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty“:

For far too long, Russia has violated the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with impunity, covertly developing and fielding a prohibited missile system that poses a direct threat to our allies and troops abroad.  Tomorrow, the United States will suspend its obligations under the INF Treaty and begin the process of withdrawing from the INF Treaty, which will be completed in 6 months unless Russia comes back into compliance by destroying all of its violating missiles, launchers, and associated equipment.  Our NATO Allies fully support us, because they understand the threat posed by Russia’s violation and the risks to arms control posed by ignoring treaty violations.

The United States has fully adhered to the INF Treaty for more than 30 years, but we will not remain constrained by its terms while Russia misrepresents its actions.  We cannot be the only country in the world unilaterally bound by this treaty, or any other.  We will move forward with developing our own military response options and will work with NATO and our other allies and partners to deny Russia any military advantage from its unlawful conduct.

My Administration remains committed to effective arms control that advances United States, allied, and partner security, is verifiable and enforceable, and includes partners that fulfill their obligations.  For arms control to effectively contribute to national security, all parties must faithfully implement their obligations.  We stand ready to engage with Russia on arms control negotiations that meet these criteria, and, importantly, once that is done, develop, perhaps for the first time ever, an outstanding relationship on economic, trade, political, and military levels.  This would be a fantastic thing for Russia and the United States, and would also be great for the world.

Besides common US accusations against Russia, Trump’s statement includes an interesting thing – the official declaration that the US will “move forward” with openly developing military capabilities violating the arms reduction agreements existing between Moscow and Washington.

Earlier, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that many pieces of “evidence” that the US has put forward to support its accusations against Russia were in fact “fabricated.” Russia also held a briefing revealing extra details about the 9M729 missile of the Iskander-M system in earlier in January. The Russian side said that the missile does not violate the INF Treaty. The US says it does.

At the same time, Washington ignores Moscow’s concerns that the US missile defense shield in Europe has a double purpose and that the US is testing weapons prohibited under the INF over the last 15 years.

Most of experts agree that Washington’s withdrawal from the INF Treaty is a dangeruous putting Europe at risk of the total destruction in case of any conflict involving the US and Russia.

It’s not the US that is within the range of any intermediate range missiles. It’s Europe. Escalating the arms race isn’t a joke for the Europeans. It’s time for Europe to give a big middle finger to the American Empire.

You can call me Al

Well I do it everyday, but they do not seem to be listening to me for some reason.

Yes it is within the range. INF is 500 to 5500 km (intermediate range) and U.S. the most important ABM military base and F-22 air base on Alaska are all within that range from Russia. Not to mention all major US military bases in South Korea and in Japan and few in Pacific as well. Exactly for that kind of missiles positioned in far Eastern Russia.

So, is this “pull out” a club that US hangs over Europe’s head? Scare them so they give you some points over other issues? If the INF is no more, Americans install MRBMs and IRBMs there and a war breaks out, Europe is truly screwed. All seems lost, isn’t it? Well there is a simple solution: Grow a pair and don’t let them install missiles on your soil, so there’s no reason for Russians to target you for retaliation. I’m %100 sure European people will back their politicians in this case (if what people want really matters).

Huh, we know the chance for that, what would European leaders choose, between incineration of their countries -and people- in a US-Russia nuclear war on one hand, and Washington’s demands and orders “to take one for the team” on the other?

You can call me Al

I would not be so certain of Europe’s reactions, as I believe something truly amazing is coming, amazing in a positive way. The World has had enough of the US, yes, including Europe.

Thing is though, while most Europeans may not want these missiles, the massive anti-nuclear peace movement of the 80’s which protested against these missiles is gone. And without them European politicians basically have carte blanche to do the fuck whatever they want.

Oh, and by the way, the peace movement of the 80’s was also said to be organized from Russia. According to the US at the time. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

a desperate indebted country trying to make itself count and when everything else fails the threat is to develop more and more deadly nukes – as if that will stop the world from turning against the white house/congress nitwits. not at all but when you allow some syphilitic deranged luna bin maniacs to set the agenda, this is where you end up – with a threat on all humanity! and I’m naming bolton and fatso pompous,

Promitheas Apollonious

the question you should be asking yourself and every one else is who is pulling their strings and lead them into the path of self destruction and why. The ones who started all this new charade and stupid colonized americans as good errand boys do as the masters order them to, are the british. It does not matter if you call them zionists or shit4brains or scum of the earth, or the jews done it. jews are not a trace are a religious cult and is how they must be faced.

There would be global empire is failing and they are desperate and think by provoking a third time what they have provoked globally twice already, global war, this will reset the button and clear their debt but keep under their control all that they have stolen. Putin is in their way for the moment but then none live for ever. West is not controlled either by politicians who are errand boys or by governments that you vote for. But from the banking system they created and imposed on you and control every aspect of your life.

All of you speak of one person or another as though are the decision makers and not the errand boys and like the jews you see also only see what the americans do like they matter or have decision making and are not just an expendable tool same as all the colonies they created and controlling. I hope this time russians and chinese have the sanity and clear mind to attack the colony called canada and usa and not spare her of all the wars her masters have use her to create. Now days nothing on earth is too far to reach. Eliminate the military arm of the globalists and you have them toothless and then leave them to the wrath of their own populations.

Darkish

The losers are Europeans.

jako

Not all exactly For the moment : The nuke targets are only those NATO countries who have tactical or strategic nukes Turkey -ABM radars, nukes Germany-nukes Belgium-nukes France-nukes UK-nukes Italy-nukes and NATO countries who are part of U.S. installed ABM shield Czech -radar Romania -ABM Poland-ABM

and bordering NATO countries on whose territory is preparing NATO ground assault on Russia in the case of attack or war are also potential tactical nuke targets…

BL

Russia needs to start arming and training European nationalist and patriot groups to physically remove their ZOG from power. The kikes are ready to fight until the last Goyim. The Jew wise Goyim must not let the kikes plunge the world into another world war.

Neo Onh

So what? If NATO (North Amurican Terrorist Organisation) strikes Russia from Europe then Russia should retalliate against USA because NATO will strike only on amurican orders!
