UK Backs Future US Military Action Against Syria, But Admits There Is No Evidence

FILE IMAGE: REUTERS

UK Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon said on Tuesday that his country is committed to any future US military actions against Syria and its military forces.

“As always in war, the military action you use must be justified, it must be legal, it must proportionate, it must be necessary. In the last case it was. If the Americans take similar action again, I want to be very clear, we will support it,” Fallon  told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

Fallon’s statement followed the White House’s claims that it has some “potential” evidence that the Bashar Assad government was preparing for a chemical weapons attack that “would likely result if the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children” in Syria. The White House added in a statement that if this is done, Syria and its militarywill pay a heavy price.”

However, the UK defense secretary revealed that the US had not shared any specific evidence with the British Government about the chemical attack preparations. He added that he expected to discuss the situation with US Defence Secretary General James Mattis.

“Jim Mattis did review the various options with me last time before the final meeting with the President. I shall be seeing Secretary Mattis at the Nato meeting on Thursday. This is one of the matters we expect to review,” Fallon added.

loooooooooool. He never said there is no evidence. What has SF become first forcing the Military spokesman to say he concedes that they lost the border and eastern syria war and now this..

Nor did this man admit to anything and the same goes to spokesman Dillion

personally for the life of me i cant see what assad has to gain at this stage to launch a chemical attack.

far more likely the americans are looking for an excuse to bomb syrian&allies forces at the iraqi border, raqqah and aleepo.

Plato has had to give Socrates another cup of hemlock, hermes is in his room and wont come out aphrodite has turned celibate finally Zeus has stormed off telling everyone to get stuffed he is done.

Wahid Algiers

The US can’ t share any specific evidence yet because it is not prepared until now in their brewery. But they will.

David Robertson

This has all the hallmarks of a false flag in preparation as President Putin indicated some time ago after the last “chemical attack” alleged to have been perpetrated by the Syrian Air Force.

“Mad Dog” Mattis has recently moved the narrative into the “annihilation” zone, with the apparent support of President Trump, his supporters and the war hungry Democrats. (U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!) He says ISIS but no doubt he means everyone still breathing, including the local wildlife. That would certainly solve the refugee problem at the source and help the immigration problems in the U.S. and the EU.

What this means of course is that the Pentagon is dead set on widening the war leading inevitably to a confrontation with Russia and Iran. I personally believe this is what will happen and it will result in a nuclear conflagration in that region and the destruction of Jerusalem and the Jewish State. This will have the effect of bringing the insanity to an end by eliminating the root cause of the conflict, the ambitions of the Jewish leaders and their allies for a Greater Israel and ultimately world domination.

More

David Robertson Your ideas are beyond wishful thinking.

Putin considers both Netanyahu and Israel as best friends of Russia and Putin wants (non Muslim) immigration from Israel into Russia.

There will be no Nuclear conflagration because Israel has stated its Samson Option, if it is destroyed, Israel will destroy majority of the main cities around the world.

Germany has supplied gratis free, many submarines to Israel for carrying that task.

David Robertson

(As far as this being wishful thinking, God knows I have no such wish. If the prophecy in Isaiah 29 can be interpreted as a national conversion to Christ that would be my wish, rather than a physical destruction. I have prayed to that end.)

What you say is indeed true, or at least factual. It may however come to pass that the Jewish leaders will themselves destroy their own State using the nuclear missiles carried by these six submarines.

The purpose of such a self immolation would be to evoke sympathy for the remaining survivors (including the leading families) as the destruction would be attributed to other actors, in other words a false flag. These leaders have form in this particular way of thinking.

This possibility was suggested in an article by an Israeli dissident who had sought asylum in Bolivia but who had to leave that country due to pressure on the Bolivian government from Israel. He may since have been killed by the Mossad or on their orders, as that was his expectation. I believe that was in 2012 if my memory serves correctly. He wrote under the name Roy Tov and his website has been redesigned and archived at http://www.roytov.com, probably by his supporters. The article I mentioned is under the link to “Articles” at that website.

This follows a few probing raids by America’s proxies in Israel. My suspicion is that they are either testing Russia’s response or that they plan to use Israel as a pawn like they used ISIS before.

Wahid Algiers

I think Israel is misusing the US in protection AND aussault items with the strong US-Jew-community in the US in the back.

Past behaviors determines the future ones. You cannot predict current trends without taking in consideration the past ones. What we do today depends on what we did yesterday. There is always a tread of consistency in human behavior which needs to be taken into account. In other words there is always a pattern in past behaviors which you need to capture in order to determine the future ones correctly. Use this as a tool and you will arrive to the most likely scenario in Syrian case.

Just like the foolish and lying Israelies pretexts of last weekend to justify bombing Syrian government positions and supporting the damned terrorists. Now it will be the turn of their American master making such false and stupid excuses that no one with any common sense would never believe them. For at that time what benefits and military advantages would the Syrian government take by killing innocent civilians with chemical attacks? The only beneficiaries of always are the same damn terrorists to the services of the damn government of the United States of America, manufacturer and sponsor par excellence of international terrorism.

John Mason

Exactly Terence, they should be more concerned of their illegal actions, killing of civilians and military personel and the consequences they will have to face when the war is over. Hopefully the Hague will be busy for some time.

888mladen .

You need to understand better the nature of the kangaroo court in Hague and the purpose of its existence. The tribunal has been created by them and for them in order to make sure neither of them is ever brought to justice. It’s more likely that Putin will find himself in its dock one day like Slobodan Milosevic than anybody from the criminal Illuminati shadow government. So don’t pin any hope of yours on it is my advice cause It’s a false hope.

John Mason

Exactly my point, maybe not as direct as yours. Hague is a joke so is the UN, ICC, ICJ because the US controls them hence the justification of their existence. Putin will never end up at the Hague, US/NATO will find ‘another way’ eventually.

John Mason

Never heard so much sh+t coming out of such a deranged person. Maybe he should get some advice for the definition of ‘legal’, he hasn’t got the faintest clue of its’ meaning. There are two kinds of insane people: the ones who talk into their shoes and eat out of waste bins–and sociopaths. You can walk around the former. You CANNOT turn your back on the latter. Sociopaths are often successful, rising to the top of competitive fields. The trail of destruction they leave in their wake only convinces them they deserve it.

Justin Ryan

Sorry to interrupt ur comment but i think u mean “psychopaths”! Psychopaths are the ones who reach the top in business and politics! My partner is a Psychologist and she know the statistics!

Psychopaths are much more dangerous than a sociopath!

” Key traits that sociopaths and psychopaths have in common, include:

A disregard for laws and social mores A disregard for the rights of others A failure to feel remorse or guilt A tendency to display violent behaviour

In addition to their commonalities, sociopaths and psychopaths also have their own unique behavioural characteristics, as well.

Sociopaths tend to be nervous and easily agitated. They are volatile and prone to emotional outbursts, including fits of rage. They are likely to be uneducated and live on the fringes of society, unable to hold down a steady job or stay in one place for very long. It is difficult but not impossible for sociopaths to form attachments with others. Many sociopaths are able to form an attachment to a particular individual or group, although they have no regard for society in general or its rules. In the eyes of others, sociopaths will appear to be very disturbed. Any crimes committed by a sociopath, including murder, will tend to be haphazard, disorganized and spontaneous rather than planned.

Psychopaths, on the other hand, are unable to form emotional attachments or feel real empathy with others, although they often have disarming or even charming personalities. Psychopaths are very manipulative and can easily gain people’s trust. They learn to mimic emotions, despite their inability to actually feel them, and will appear normal to unsuspecting people. Psychopaths are often well educated and hold steady jobs. Some are so good at manipulation and mimicry that they have families and other long-term relationships without those around them ever suspecting their true nature.

When committing crimes, psychopaths carefully plan out every detail in advance and often have contingency plans in place. Unlike their sociopathic counterparts, psychopathic criminals are cool, calm, and meticulous. Their crimes, whether violent or non-violent, will be highly organized and generally offer few clues for authorities to pursue. Intelligent psychopaths make excellent white-collar criminals and “con artists” due to their calm and charismatic natures.

The cause of psychopathy is different than the cause of sociopathy (1). It is believed that psychopathy is the largely the result of “nature” (genetics) while sociopathy is more likely the result of “nurture” (environment). Psychopathy is related to a physiological defect that results in the underdevelopment of the part of the brain responsible for impulse control and emotions. Sociopathy, on the other hand, is more likely the product of childhood trauma and physical/emotional abuse. Because sociopathy appears to be learned rather than innate, sociopaths are capable of empathy in certain limited circumstances but not in others, and with a few individuals but not others.”

Ma_Laoshi

You describe the psychopath well; sometimes these *dangerous* people are called sociopaths, though this may be more in the popular media and not in your partner’s circle of trained psychologists.

NATO really are on verge of losing this – they are getting embarrassingly desperate – a sure sign.

It is the same faults narrative they used against Adolf. Adolf was deporting the Zionist back to there own lands in the ME, but the Zionist owned the Banks and Newspapers and so forth and wanted to keep there strangle hold over the indigenous ethnic-Germanic tribal peoples. Russia needs to start playing hardball, right now ! They should fly in a Russian Army division, directly to Damascus airport, complete with full air defense and ground attack aircraft. It doesn’t mean they have to deploy them throughout Syria. That decision can be made later.

Then Russia should wait about one week, to let this sink in, while Wall Street stock markets tank, and Congressional leaders demand a debate about “war powers”, and become very nervous about what Trump is doing in Syria.

Believe me, everyone is already very nervous about Trump.

After one week, Russia should announce that their Syrian forces now are in possession of tactical “nukes”. And, ……. at the same time also announce that there is no prohibition against “first use” of such nukes in self defense of it’s forces.

Putin will regret his slow motion war in Syria if the US does the unthinkable and launches 59 Tomahawks into the Presidential Palace in Damascus.

Syria is the Achilles Heel of the Russia.

If Syria falls, Russia will fall starting with Arab Pipelines pumping oil and gas into Turkey (Russia’s No 2 largest customer) and then to the EU (Russia’s No 1 customer).

888mladen .

“Syria is the Achilles Heel of the Russia.” I doubt Putin relay understands that in its entirety hence those slow motion movies played by Kremlin.

More

888mladen

All that you write is true.

Putin has been sitting back and collecting US$Trillions since 9/11 getting rich via the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Sanctions on Iran, all of which have raised the oil price.

Syria has also been a good US$ earner for Putin as Iran has to pay hard US$s for every piece of equipment supplied to Syria.

If Putin fails to save Syria, he will also destroy the Russian Federation.

Ma_Laoshi

In 2003 Russia was still shuttered for repairs, and even Uncle Saddam assumed that there were lines the Empire just wouldn’t cross–until it was too late of course. Now all actors have experience from Libya etc as well (but never mention South Sudan, everybody is supposed to have forgotten about South Sudan). Do we learn from experience or not.

You make another relevant point in passing: not everyone agrees on the importance of the pipeline, but kiboshing it was a Russian interest only. For Assad, letting the pipeline go up was just rational business. So Damascus prioritizes their Moscow ties, and Putin treats the fallout in large part as a way to sell weapons to Iran. How attractive is such an ally to others?

zman

Ah, yes…so many armchair generals safe at home in their recliners…that would have taken the US bait everytime. If you guys had been in charge, there would be all out war already in Syria…just exactly what the Ziocon cabal is wanting because it is their only way forward. Yes, Russia should be listening to you guys, since they have had no success in Syria so far…losing all their battles with ISIS, continually losing more land. Yes, Syria is in far worse shape than they were 2 years ago…the Russians should have been listening to you all along. Putin will regret not following the same militarist path as the US.

Ma_Laoshi

Of course there is an argument on the other side and you are welcome to make it. Yes RF is winning battles with ISIS and doing some good for the Syrian people. Meanwhile, the idea that Russia was going to restore state order has become a distant mirage, with Turks and Kurds squabbling over who gets to gobble up more of what used to be Syria. Moscow is so sure it’s doing the right thing but after a hard look, Sweden, Finland, etc are moving towards NATO. Qatar also sure as hell won’t want to end up a Russian ally in Syria’s vein.

US is not necessarily baiting but probing–it’s what their officers are *trained* to do. You snatch up this and if there’s no price to pay, you can probably snatch up that other shiny thing as well. Or at least destroy it–snatch *away* from your rivals. There would be no “every time” if there’s dead orcs on TV at home first time they go too far.

Matthew Rycroft – who is now the UK Ambassador in the UN and begging to get his hands on the Syrian natural resources. In fact, isn’t he even using the same words from the same script, that was used during the courtship of the UK citizens and Blair’s thirst and lust for the Iraq War?
