UK to send more troops in Iraq

On Saturday, British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said that the United Kingdom will send additional troops to Iraq to train local forces engaged in fighting ISIS terrorists.

“Now is the time to step up our training of Iraqi Forces, as they prepare for operations in key cities such as Fallujah and Mosul,” Fallon said.

According to the BBC, Fallon said at least 30 military trainers will be deployed in Iraq, which will bring the total number of UK personnel in the country to more than 300. The move comes as Iraqi troops prepare for major offensive to retake the cities of Mosul and Fallujah.

The defense secretary said that UK forces were playing “the crucial role” in the fight against ISIS.

Some analysts suggest that the US-led coalition though is also under pressure to address the aftermath of war. Now the west want to involve with the government forces  in disguise of  helping to rebuild and repopulate towns and cities like Ramadi recently liberated from so-called Islamic State.

Since June 2014, Iraq has been observing ISIS terrorist activities. The US-led coalition started its operations allegedly hitting ISIS, although many believes ISIS is a creation of the west.

However, the 66-member coalition has been failing to control ISIS terrorism, when a concerted push by Iraqi forces are dealing terrorists and forcing it out of the central city of Ramadi, the capital of the western Anbar Province.
