On the afternoon of April 13, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched missile strikes in the city of Luhansk in the Luhansk People’s Republic of the Russian Federation. This was the first attack in Luhansk since May 2023.
The Ukrainian military used the Strom Shadow/SCALP EG missiles, which were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Kiev’s NATO ‘partners’.
According to local reports, the city came under the attack of at least two NATO missiles. Large smoke is seen over the city. The missiles were reportedly launched from the area of Slavyansk. Storm Shadow/SCALP EG are the only modern weapon in service with the Ukrainian units that is capable of reaching the peaceful city of Lugansk.
Two missile strikes were reported in the area of the bus station and school No. 5 in Luhansk. The head of the LPR soon revealed that the target of the attack was the local Lugansk Machine-Building Plant. Apparently, the facility in question is the Lugansk Machine-building Plant named after Parkhomenko, which is located not far from the bus station on Zheleznodorozhnaya Street.
Several residential buildings were also damaged by the explosions in the area. The attack resulted in civilian victims. According to preliminary reports, at least three civilians were wounded. More detailed information about the victims is being clarified.
The scale of the damage caused to the machine-building plant is yet to be assessed. The local authorities reported that the facility was planned to launch the operations soon. Work was underway to prepare for the resumption of work of the plant which was supposed to employ several dozen citizens. Due to its proximity to the frontlines, the plant was unlikely to serve the need of the Russian military but it should perform civilian tasks.
Having no success at the front, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to prevent the Russians from establishing a peaceful life in the regions that Kiev lost. The Donbass Republics, Zaporozhie, Kherson regions and the Crimean Republic are targeted by the Ukrainian military. Unfortunately, Ukrainian Nazis can rarely reach any significant military targets in the Russian rear areas. That’s why they are terrorizing the civilian population, increasing civilian losses in this war.
The ongoing terror is possible thanks to the ‘support’ of Kiev’s NATO partners, who are trying their best to prolong the bloodshed away from their borders.
