On August 6, the Russian military foiled an attempt by Kiev forces to attack facilities in the Moscow region with a suicide drone.

In a statement, the Russian ministry of Defense stated that the drone was destroyed by air defense systems over the Podolsk district.

“Today at 11:27 a.m. an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with a drone on facilities in the Moscow Region was foiled,” the ministry said. “There are no casualties and destruction as a result of the thwarted terrorist attack,” the ministry said.

This was the second attempt by Kiev forces to attack Russian territory with drones in less than 24 hours. In the morning, Russian air defenses shot down two drones over the Bryansk region.

The Ukrainian attacks came following a series of Russian strikes that hit Ukraine in the early morning hours. In its daily briefing, the Russian MoD said that the strikes targeted Ukrainian air bases near Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnitsky region and Dubno in the Rovno region.

“Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a group strike with long-range air and sea-based precision weapons on the air bases of the Ukrainian army near the settlements of Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnitsky region and Dubno in the Rovno region. The goal of the strike was achieved. All designated targets were hit,” the ministry’s spokesman, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said.

Ukrainian news sources shared photos showing the aftermath of the Russian strikes. However, there is still no detailed information on the losses.

The Russian MoD also announced on August 6 that the Russian military had repelled a new wave of Ukrainian attacks in the direction of Donetsk, Kupyansk, Krasny Liman, South Donetsk and Zaporozhye.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces improved the tactical situation in the area of responsibility, according to the ministry. The group repelled eight Ukrainian counterattacks near Sinkovka, Olshana and Novosyolovskoye.

The group also targeted gatherings of Kiev forces near Novomlynsk, Sinkovka, Timkovka, Tabaevka and Artyomovka.

Lt. Gen. Konashenkov said that Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 50 troops, three armored fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, two American-made M109 self-propelled howitzers, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer and two Msta-B towed howitzers.

In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled five attacks close to Kleshcheevka, Pervomayskoye, Nevelskoye and Maryinka. The group also targeted Ukrainian gatherings near Avdeevka, Kleshcheevka, Staromikhailovka, Maryinka and Krasnogorovka.

Kiev forces lost 170 troops, three armored fighting vehicles, five motor vehicles and a Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer in this direction, according to the ministry.

In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled two attacks by Kiev forces to the southwest of Kovalyovka and Lt. Gen. Konashenkovclose to the Serebryansky forest. The group also targeted gatherings of manpower and equiptment near Torskoye, Yampol, Petrovskoye and Chervonaya Dibrova.

Up to 110 Ukrainian troops, two armored fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, an American-made M777 towed howitzer and a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer were neutralized in this direction, Lt. Gen. Konashenkov said.

Meanwhile in the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled a Ukrainian attack close to Urozhainoye. In addition, the group targeted Ukrainian gatherints near Staromayorskoye, Storozhevoye and Levadnoye.

The ministry said that Ukraine lost 150 troops, two armored fighting vehicles, four motor vehicles, a Grad multiple rocket launcher and an American-mde M777 towed howitzer.

In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian forces repelled two new attacks by Kiev forces near Rabotino. A series of Russian strikes also targeted Ukrainian gatherings near Novopokrovka, Rabotino and Novoandreevka.

Ukraine lost 80 troops, three armored fighting vehicles, four motor vehicles and a D-30 towed howitzer in this direction, according to Lt. Gen. Konashenkov.

In the Kherson direction, up to 40 Ukrainian troops were neutralized and eight motor vehicles were destroyed by Russian forces.

The Russian MoD also provided the following details:

Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized 136 artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 145 areas.

1 munition depot of missile and artillery weapons of the 9th Army Corps of the AFU has been destroyed close to Zaporozhye.

In addition, hangars with AFU aircraft equipment have been hit at Zaporozhye airfield.

1 command post of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the AFU has been neutralized near Paraskovievka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Air defense units have intercepted 11 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectiles and 1 HARM anti-radar missile.

In addition, 16 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been shot down close to Belogorovka, Ploshchanka, Rubezhnoye, Novovodyanoye (Lugansk People’s Republic), Krasnaya Gora, Lidievka (Donetsk People’s Republic), Ternovoye, Mirnoye (Zaporozhye region) and Novaya Kakhovka (Kherson region).

In addition, the Russian MoD released videos showing recent strikes by Ka-52 attack helicopters and Lancet loitering munitions against armored vehicles and howitzers of Kiev forces in different directions.

Ukraine launched its counteroffensive exactly nine weeks ago. Despite receiving military aid worth upwards of $200 billion from its Western Backers, Kiev’s forces are yet to make any meaningful gains in Zaporozhye or any other direction.

who cares what npcs say tho.

Fat Cat

only npcs think other people are npcs.

ukraine doing commando shit because that’s the only feather in their cap right now. the tanks are… un tanks, now.

while i think ukr should negotiate, russia also needs to define clearer objectives and pursue them more decisively. command and control, less bloodshed, more likely that the boys just go home.

Fat Cat

ahaha the downvotes have started. i am not partisan though i have to confess a deep affection for russia. i am interested in finding out what is really happening rather than assuming copium moves the front line, or calling people gay on the internet.

Fat Cat

the erudite analysis i come here for.

NDR7652

such an attack would be an act of antisemitism. goyim must know their place.

Sunny

unironically this sums up the entire conflict.

Fat Cat

intellectually lazy. you wouldn’t even know about some of the crimes of the small black hats without the white small hats trying to clean house.

Jean Paul France

ukraine-nato strikes big blows and russia strikes ridiculous blows.

why does not putin answer louder ???

because he has many millions in switzerland and this is the west’s secret weapon of deterrence. they have already used this weapon in georgia and the donbas to stop russia at a time when it could advance and win. and it was a swiss ambassador who carried the message.

where did you read that shit!? in the magazine “titty twister”!

Darius

and what weapon is it , if i am allowed to ask?

Darius

if you click the map , the result of the counter offensive is obvious. i watched just tv , where “our studio expert” told in bloomy phrases about the small but steady progress of ukrainians to achieve their goals and reach the sea of azov. it would be very very difficult because nobody could guess the russians would be able to defence that clever , but there were no doubt the ukrainians win.

well technically he isnt wrong. 35-40k deaths to take an abandoned trench or two. at this rate it will take ukraine another 40 million casualties before the reach the sea of azov but thats just fine with their “benefactors”. “till the last ukrainian” as the saying goes.

only a total braindead moron could belive that, because ukros dont have the resources in man, ammo, spare material, money and armament to ever win this war.

amazing there is endless money for war and death but a pittance for life of all kinds. the judgement shall be appropriate to fit the crimes against humanity. there’s no messiah coming to help one population achieve final domination over all others. you were informed from the one who was alpha and omega. fools have guided missiles and misguided man as mlk warned you.
