On June 6, the Kiev regime destroyed the dam at the Kakhovskaya HPP. As a result, the warring parties were forced to abandon their military positions on the coast, mainly the Russians, who were stationed on the lower eastern bank of the river. About two weeks later, the water came down, and the forces of the Russian Army and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were forced to restore their fortifications in the flooded area. Taking advantage of the disaster that claimed the lives of dozens of civilians and destroyed numerous settlements, the Ukrainian military has recently intensified its attacks on the eastern bank of the Dnieper in an attempt to seize a stronghold in an area controlled by Russian troops.
While numerous groups of Ukrainian servicemen were recently destroyed along the coast, the AFU finally managed to capture a stronghold on the Russian eastern bank. Since yesterday, fierce fighting has resumed in the village of Dachi, located near the Antonovsky Bridge.
More than 50 Ukrainian servicemen gained a strongpoint right next to the bridge. They are covered by Ukrainian artillery systems deployed in the western bank, as well as small drones, which are mainly used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to monitor the situation and strike at the Russian military. Ukrainian forces are also remotely mining the area.
The Ukrainian military benefits from the terrain, as their positions on the western bank are higher.
Ukrainian servicemen also managed to cross the river, hiding from Russian shelling under the Antonovsky Bridge and in houses located on the shore. Shelters are equipped under the bridge and electronic warfare systems were reportedly deployed in the area, blocking the work of Russian kamikaze drones.
In their turn, the Russian troops failed to prevent the AFU from seizing a stronghold in this area. Attempts by Russian troops to dislodge the AFU from the village reportedly resulted in losses of some military equipment, while the strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces on enemy positions turned out to be inaccurate.
The lack of accurate fire from Russian forces gives the Ukrainian military time to consolidate forces in Dachi.
Ukraine’s attempts to expand the control zone on the eastern bank of the Dnieper are of strategic importance amid the ongoing offensive in the Zaporozhye direction. Firstly, the AFU is aimed at inciting fighting and forcing the deployment of more Russian troops in the area that is easily shelled by Ukrainian artillery. At the same time, the fighting distracts the Russian military and does not allow them to transfer reinforcements to the Zaporozhye front lines.
Moreover, if the case of their success, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may try to advance deep into the Russian rear areas and cut the roads to the Crimean Peninsula, which would be a strategic defeat for Russian troops. However, so far the advance of Ukrainian troops into the Kherson region seems unlikely. Firstly, the AFU should transfer heavy military equipment across the Dnieper. In addition, there is only one road in the village of Dachi that the advancing forces could use; while the surrounding areas are swampy and heavy military equipment of the AFU can hardly pass through them
However, if the Russian military does not take any drastic measures and does not destroy the Antonovsky Bridge with heavy bombs, the Ukrainian military will gain a chance to launch another large-scaled attack.

trolls are out today hoping for something to become of what’s left of the natostan offensive.
in the vremievsky sector, the situation is deteriorating fast. russia needs to find a diplomatic off-ramp before ukraine cuts the land bridge and makes it to crimea. russia is losing and has lost the war. how much more russian blood will be spilled?
today is “5 days ago” with your vremievsky sector. you must also choose: “russia is losing” or “russia has lost”. it’s not possible at the same time. better you write: “i still hope ukrainians can maybe cut the land bridge and make it to crimea. i pray every day russia will finally start to loose this war.” greets
it is the beginning of the end for russia in ukraine. too many goodwill gestures and military defeats. it is just a matter of time before russia surrenders. prighozin was russia’s last hope. the incompetence and corruption of the putin regime will lead to another rebellion even worse.
pathetic troll not even funny to read.
not a problem until ukraine uses the bridge to transport tanks, vehicles, artillery, etc. infantry crossing on pontoons can only carry small arms. it would be better to wait for a larger force to cross before destroying bridge, but russia may want to use that bridge later.
and why ist this fcking bridge not destroyed since months? the ukro bridgehead ist small at the moment, one single tos1 should be enough. but like since this whole shitty war, russians often reacting to slow, to weak or too inaccurate
good start, i am looking forward to hear more on the kherson front.

remote controlled turrets from command center would have handled this situation without problem. reason why lada looks they way it does – why change something that works? well if time stood still it would have been a good idea – but technology evolve. battlefield and strategy change. what once worked does not mean it will work in future. food for thoughts….

finally, some of the ukrainians are making progress!
if i were a russian commander, i would probably not leave anything in that area to chance, but also only strike the afu from afar if the troops are needed in the zaporozhye area.
the author is clearly unfamiliar with the battle of sterling bridge. you have to let half the enemy’s army cross the bridge, and then you attack them.
