According to estimates from both sides of the front, the Kiev regime is preparing another counteroffensive dedicated to Trump’s inauguration. The Ukrainian military is amassing large forces near Russia’s Kursk region and is likely to make another breakthrough attempt to impress the US president and assure him that Ukrainian troops are still worth the multibillion-dollar aid. While Kiev is again sacrificing military sanity to Zelensky’s political goals, the Russian military maintains the military initiative and advances in different directions.

On January 20th, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially confirmed control of two more settlements on the Donbass frontlines. The village of Novoegorovka was liberated in the Svatovo direction in the LPR and the town of Shevchenko came under the full Russian control south of Pokrovsk in the DPR.

Despite Ukrainian reserves deployed in the region, the Russian army does not stop advance in the Pokrovsk direction. The day before, the Russian military officially confirmed the full control of the village of Vozdvizhenka located east of Pokrovsk. The battle for this village began in late December, when the Russian army resumed offensive operations in the eastern direction. The assault did not last long. According to the reports from the battlefield, Ukrainian forces were repelled from Vozdvizhenka in early January. After their victory in the village, Russian forces launched a series of successful attacks and cut the road from Pokrovsk to Konstantinovka, which was actively used for Ukrainian manoeuvres and military supplies.

Russian missiles in Pokrovsk:

Russian forces are surrounding the Pokrovsk urban agglomeration that includes the town of Mirnograd, from both east and west. The mop up operations are already ongoing in the villages of Kotlino and Udachnoe located along the strategically important road and railway west of Pokrovsk. According to preliminary reports, Kotlino came under Russian control.

The advancing Russian forces also secure control of important industrial facilities in the area reach on resources. Earlier, Ukraine lost one of the largest lithium deposits in Europe, which several Western companies sought to control.

Several kilometers west of Pokrovsk, near Kotlino, the Ukrainian military lost the local Pokrovskaya 2nd (Krasnoarmeyskaya 2nd) mine, the Pokrovskoye Mine Directorate together with a large loading terminal. Battles approach the main Pokrovskaya mine and the local mining and processing plant, which for a long time played one of the leading roles in the Ukrainian industry. It provided for the needs of large plants in Krivy Rih and Zaporizhia.

The retreating Ukrainian military attempts to inflict maximum damage to the strategic industrial facilities. They blew up one of the main shafts of the Pokrovskaya mine. LINK The Belitskaya mine was also reportedly destroyed so that it would not fall to the Russian hands.

The defeated Kiev regime assures the population and its foreign patrons that it is fighting for liberation of the lost territories but in fact it only leaves the devastated land flooded with blood behind.
