On May 2, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, held the a conference call with the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, assessing the interim results of the past month of the ongoing Special Military Operation in Ukraine.
According to the Russian military, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 15 thousand servicemen in April alone. “Despite unprecedented military assistance from Western countries, the enemy is suffering significant losses,” the Defense Minister clarified.
Over the past month, the Russian military destroyed:
- eight aircraft,
- over 270 drones,
- 430 tanks and other armored vehicles,
- 18 MLRS vehicles;
- 225 field artillery guns and mortars of the AFU.
Sergei Shoigu also stressed that the actions of Russian troops during the Special Military Operation largely depend on the timely replenishment of stocks of weapons, military equipment and means of destruction. According to the Minister, the Russian Armed Forces have received enough ammunition this year to defeat the enemy.
As a result, compared with the beginning of 2022, the number of purchased basic weapons has increased 2.7 times, and of the especially demanded weapons — 7 times.
The claims were maid amid the ongoing public scandal between the Russian Ministry of Defence and the Wagner Group PMC. The head of the PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin continues to blame some Russian military officials for cutting supplies of the necessary artillery ammunition to his units, while there is enough ammunition produced by the Russian military-industrial complex. The scandal broke out months ago but was temporarily resolved. Today, Prigozhin is again paying public attention to the problem, adding tha the ammunition hunger results in increasing losses in manpower.

Meanwhile in Ukraine, Kiev officials counted the number of people who went missing since February 2022. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, about 23 thousand people are considered missing as a result of military operations since the beginning of the Russian Special Military Operation. The number reportedly includes both military personnel and civilians.
At the end of 2022, the number of missing declared by Kiev was 15 thousand people.
“[Since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine] tens of thousands of people have been missing. Most of them have been found. However, about 23 thousand people who are considered missing as a result of hostilities have yet been officially confirmed,” the report says.
On May 2, Kiev launched a special unified register of persons missing in special circumstances in the country.
The AFU continues suffering heavy losses on the front lines. They include dead and wounded servicemen, as well as those who were captured or retreated to the Russian military. According to numerous testimonies of Ukrainian servicemen both to Russian and Ukrainian media, Ukrainian forces are leaving a lot of their comrades on the battlefield. They do not take back bodies of the dead and do not evacuate the wounded. LINK

The ongoing military actions in Ukraine are leading to a humanitarian catastrophe.
The Kiev regime does not reveal the true numbers of casualties; as well as the Russian military which does not officially declare its losses. The last time the Russian Defense Ministry reported its losses in September. Then this number was 5,937 servicemen.
