Ukraine Lost Two More U.S.-Made M777 Howitzers To Russian Artillery Fire (Videos)

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost two more U.S.-made M777 155 mm towed howitzers to Russian artillery fire.

On October 5, Russian sources released a video showing an artillery strike that destroyed a Ukrainian M777 howitzer along with its ammunition. The howitzer was deployed near the front in Donetsk.

Later on October 7, another video documenting the destruction of a second Ukrainian M777 howitzer along with its ammunition near Kherson front was released. The howitzer was also destroyed as a result of an artillery strike.

The M777 howitzer has a maximum rate of fire of seven rounds per minute with a range of up to 40 kilometers when firing Excalibur precision-guided rounds. The United States, Canada and Australia have supplied the AFU with more than 100 howitzers of this type along with hundreds of thousands of 155 mm rounds since April.

Many of the AFU’s new M777 howitzers have been already destroyed or damaged by the Russian military. At least one damaged howitzer of this type was also captured.

Kiev forces have received massive support from their Western allies, including hundreds of artillery pieces, since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine late in February. Despite of this, they are still struggling to overcome the fire power of the Russian artillery.

Between 100 and 500,000??

The Ukraine used 5,000 rounds per day in June, now maybe 2,000 per day. The US can produce 80,000 rounds per year.

2 Howitzers ? seriously? Why even bother reporting about it. What we want to read is “Ukraine Lost 20 More U.S.-Made HIMARS To Russian Artillery Fire (Videos)” or even a better piece of News “Ukraine Lost a big mouth Clown To Russian Artillery Fire (Videos)”

Instead of destroying weapons near Lavov or western Ukrainian border, they let them cross dniepr river and reach battlefield. Stupid command…

Correct but you comments will be deleted. They frown on the obvious as if common sense is the enemy of the Russian….Its a simple fact they could destroy this and should abut 600 miles to the west as it sits in piles waiting for one of four ferry that can carry the weight across the river. Even then once across there would be little to no fuel to move it another 400 miles south. Try dragging that thing 400 miles good luck. We would not want that so train service to the front has not been suspended … not even delayed.

In all fairness the guys who run the sight are probably in Russia and its currently against the law to make statements that undermine the military so running a site where they allow it to be posted might not look too good for them.

thoughtful

Russia should be targeting things outside of the area to gain advantage and as a warning.
