The Russian Navy had carried out a strike with high-precision weapons against a Ukrainian military port infrastructure site, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on August 25.
“Last night, the Russian Navy delivered a strike by seaborne long-range precision weapons against a port infrastructure site used in the interests of Ukrainian armed formations,” a spokesman for the ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said.
The goal of the strike was achieved, the spokesman said during the ministry’s daily briefing, adding that “the site was destroyed.”
Lt. Gen. Konashenkov also reported advance attempts by Kiev forces in several directions within the special military operation zone.
In the Donetsk direction, the Russian Yug Group of Forces repelled three Ukrainian attacks close to Zaliznyanskoye, Kleshcheevka and Staromikhailovka.
According to the spokesman, Ukrainian losses in this direction amounted to 260 troops, one tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, one Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer and two D-20 towed howitzers.
Meanwhile in the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Zapad Group of Forces repelled 3 attacks by Ukraine’s 47th mechanized and 68th jaeger brigades near Sinkovka and Sergeevka.
Up to 50 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks and one D-20 towed howitzer were neutralized during the fighting in this direction, according to Lt. Gen. Konashenkov.
In the Zaporozhye direction, five Ukrainian attacks were repelled. Kiev forces lost 110 troops during the fighting, the spokesman said.
Two American-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, two American-made Stryker armored personnel carriers, four motor vehicles, three American-made M777 towed howitzers and two British-made FH-70 towed howitzers were also destroyed. Moreover, a field ammunition depot of Kiev forces was targeted and destroyed close to Rabotino.
In the South Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok Group of Forces repelled an attack close to Sladkoye. The group also targeted units of the 38th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy near Urozhaynoye.
Furthermore, two sabotage and reconnaissance groups of Ukraine’s 31st Marine Brigade were neutralized by the group near Priyutnoye.
Lt. Gen. Konashenkov said that Kiev forces lost 125 troops, three motor vehicles, one Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzers, two American-made M777 towed howitzers, two Msta-B towed howitzers, one D-20 towed howitzers, one Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer and one American-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar.
In the Krasny Liman direction, the Russian Tsentr Group of Forces repelled an attack by the 42nd Mechanised Brigade of Kiev forces close to Kuzmino. The group also targeted several units of the 63rd, 67th mechanized brigades and the 5th Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard close to Chervonaya Dibrova, Torskoye and Grigorovka.
Up to 80 Ukrainian troops, four armored fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks were destroyed in this direction, according to the spokesman.
In Kherson direction, Kiev forces lost 50 troops, three motor vehicles and three towed howitzers, an American-made M777, a Msta-B and a D-30, to Russian military fire.
Lt. Gen. Konashenkov also provided the following details during his briefing:
Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralized manpower and military hardware in 147 areas.
Fighter Aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces have shot down 1 AFU Su-25 aircraft near Semyonovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).
Air defense systems have shot down 1 Su-25 aircraft near Zolotaya Balka (Kherson region), 6 HIMARS MLRS and 1 HARM surface-to-air radar system projectiles, manufactured in the U.S., as well as 1 S-200 SAM system missile, modified in a strike version.
▫️In addition, 73 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been intercepted and suppressed by electronic warfare means close to Olshana (Kharkov region), Shishkovo (Lugansk People’s Republic), Berestovoye, Golmovsky (Donetsk People’s Republic), Vasilyevka, Sladkaya Balka, Inzhinernoye and Zhovtnyovoye (Zaporozhye region).
In total, 464 airplanes, 246 helicopters, 6,085 unmanned aerial vehicles, 433 air defense missile systems, 11,492 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,144 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,042 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 12,424 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.
The Russian MoD also reported two failed Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory in the afternoon of August 25. One suicide drone was intercepted over the Kaluga region while flying towards Moscow. Later, a second drone was shot down over the Belgorod region. No casualties or material losses were reported after the attack attempts.
In addition, Russian news sources shared videos showing the elimination of Ukrainian troops with sniper fire and FPV suicide drones on several directions.
Despite sustaining heavy losses and failing to make any meaningful gains, Ukraine will not likely halt its counteroffensive any time soon. The Kiev regime appears to be facing pressure from NATO and other allies who provided more than $200 billions in military aid.
