Ukrainian authorities have been pressuring Tunisians detainees in the country into fighting against the Russian military, Tunisia’s Mosaique FM revealed on March 6.
According to the radio station, Ukrainian authorities forced Tunisians detainees to sign documents claiming that they “wish” to join the fight against the Russian military as “volunteers”. The detainees, who continue to refuse to fight, were promised a pardon once the battle is over.
The station leaked a photo of one such document that was signed on February 25, only a day after the beginning of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
The number of Tunisian detainees in Ukrainian prisons is very small. Only five, according to Mosaique FM. However, the station noted that Ukrainian officials had been forcing detainees from other nationalities, mainly Moroccans, to sign similar “volunteer” documents.
Ukraine’s attempts to recruit mercenaries and militants from the Middle East and Northern Africa have been widely reported.
According to one recent report by Sputnik, agents from Kiev’s intelligence visited Turkish-occupied areas in Syria to hire Turkish-backed militants even before the beginning of the Russian special military operation. Another report by Iraqi Telegram channel, Sabereen News, exposed attempts by Kiev to recruit experienced Iraqi mercenaries.
These attempts contradict with the official Ukrainian narrative, which claims that foreigners are willingly volunteering to fight against the Russian military. In reality, Kiev have been trying to employ mercenaries, radical militants and even suspected criminals.

Dear Russian Brothers, Great way to liberate Kiev: 1. Russian Army has over 2000 Orlan-10 UAV, 100+ Pechela, and 200 Forpost drones. Dozens of these need to be up at every frontlines (Kharkov, Chernigiv, Kiev) to locate Ukrop artillery, hideouts and bunkers. This will pave way for Russian artillery to smash them accurately and let ground troops stroll in. So far very limited usage of drones according to evidence from twitter. Bring out the drones! Those ukrops wont be able to hide. 2. RuAF need 24/7 AWAC and ELINT support backed by il-78 tankers for constant refueling. 4 A-50U can be up surrounding Ukraine from north, east and south to provide aerospace forces and infantry with anti-air (400km range) and anti-ground (400km) constantly. RuAF have 15 A-50U/M in inventory. Plenty. 3. RuAF need 24/7 ELINT and JAMMING support to locate and destroy remaining Ukrop air defenses (BUK, KUB, S-300PS). 5-6 Il-22PP need to be up 24/7 to locate radar emitters of ukraine and jam them to shit. 4. SU-34, SU-30, Mig-31 armed with KH-58 and KH-31P should hunt down and destroy remaining Ukrop air defenses in conjunction withb Il-22PP, A-50U surveillance. Boom. All 4 steps taken will have Russian troops steamrolling in hours guaranteed.
