On the morning of July 16, Ukrainian forces launched a major strike on the city of Luhansk in the Luhansk People’s Republic. According to the locals, several explosions thundered in the area.
At about 10 am Moscow time, Russian air defence systems were heard working on the south-western outskirts of the city of Lugansk. Then several explosions thundered in the area.
The target was reportedly a mine warehouse with ammonium and TNT which was not used by the Russian military but is necessary in the coal mining industry.
“The strike hit the so-called dynamite warehouse, which is located behind the village of Yubileyny in the city of Lugansk. There is a Mashinskaya mine there, not far from it there is a warehouse with ammonium and TNT,” former DPR officer reported.
There is no information about the injured and dead among the residents of Lugansk as a result of the strike.

Local sources supposed that the Ukrainian military struck the facility with some long-range cluster munitions, claiming that sound of explosions was similiar to those of the cluster munition. At the same time, some other Russian sources reported that the Ukrainian military likely struck the mine with Storm Shadow missile.
The local military officials are yet to comment on the attack.

not sure of the validity behind it, but there was rumor that the russians tested a new type of cluster munitions in syria back in 2018. supposedly it utilized a sub munitions with similar properties to their thermobaric munitions used by the tos but on smaller scales. be interesting to see if this was true

many of those nato weapons should never have reached anywhere near a front line, why russia has not hit every airport and railway in ukraine up to the polish border i don’t know?
i look at the faces of putin, shoigu, gerasimov, peskov… and it seems impossible to me that these guys can win the war.
the worst thing about putin is that he has achieved something that is irreversible as long as he remains in command: nato no longer fears russia because its red lines are lgtbiq rainbows, the escalation continues, now british missiles kill russian generals and nothing happens. then cluster bombs, etc, etc without end.
his people are more than happy with him, so it does not matter what you. think. if you were leading russia, from 31 december 1999 to present day, i wonder what state the nation would still be in?
either fight them to death or surrender. there is no middle ground with nato. you kill them or you bend the knee. they do not accept anything else in the long term. if you are not ready to blow up the planet to win then do not fight them cause they sure as hell are ready do to anything to win.

russia will never have peace ever again as long as a single nato country survives. the end of this will be that russia moves all their population as far away of whatever border there will be between nato. the distance of this will be determined what weapons the us gives to ukraine.the only question is if the deathzone will be on the russian or ukrainian side of the 2022 border. aditionally to that there will be forever terror as long as somebody in the west can be bothered to fund it.
