Heavy battles are ongoing in the city of Chasov Yar that was turned into a large stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donbass. The Russian army is surrounding the city from several directions, while destroying Ukrainian positions in the Kanal district.
The battle for Kanal is coming to its end. Russian forces advanced from the east and took control of the center and northern part of the district. At the moment, Russian troops are competing the mop up operation in the southwestern part of the quarter. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to resist and are holding control of several highrise buildings.
The Ukrainian military command is likely close to admit that it lost the battle the Kanal district. According to the latest reports from the front, the commanders of the Ukrainian grouping in Chasov Yar began withdrawing the remaining forces from their last military positions across the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal.
The Ukrainian military is building the line of its defense along the canal in the hope that it will slow down Russian offensive so that Ukrainian servicemen could reinforce their positions on the streets.
At the same time, Russian artillery is pounding Ukrainian positions in the Novy district in the southeast of the city. The assault there is likely to begin soon.

they will be forced to in due time, they can’t keep the war going for to long. the question i how ukraine will break. is it that they run out of people to sent to the front, that they run out of ammunition and weapons, the crash in economy when west sends less money and ukraine gdp falls to half this year vs last year, or is it when it gets cold and ukraine can’t supply electricity and gas to their population, a military coup, or revolt of the population against the ruling elite.
i can’t say what will happen only that there are more possibilities of ukraine failing than for them to achieve a victory against russia.
