Daniil Lyashuk, a former fighter of the Ukrainian Nazi Tornado battalion, who was convicted of torturing civilians in 2017, died on the outskirts of Bakhmut. His death was confirmed by Ukrainian media and Lyashuk’s friends on the social media. LINK, LINK
Lyashuk was a citizen of Belarus who came to Ukraine to fight for the Nazi Kiev regime against pro-Russian citizens in Donbass. After he joined the notorious Nazi Tornado battalion, Lyashuk had the call sign Mujahid as he professed Islam.
He was arrested in 2015, and two years later was sentenced to ten years in prison. He was involved in a criminal case against militants of the Tornado battalion who were convicted of murder, torture, rape and pedophilia against civilians. The atrocities committed by the “Tornadovites” shocked the Ukrainian population. “Heroes” of the Kiev’s anti-terrorist operation in the Donbass turned to be екгу maniacs and criminals.
However, year’s of Kiev’s propaganda restored the fake reputation of the Nazis. In 2021, militants of the Tornade battalion, including Lyashuk, were released under the so-called “Savchenko law”.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted this law on the terms of detention in a pre-trial detention center on November 26, 2015. According to it, the court assigns the term of pre-trial detention to the term of punishment at the rate of “one day of pre-trial detention for two days of imprisonment”. Before it was repealed in 2017, the law allowed to release hundreds of maniacs and criminals throughout Ukraine.
More than 10 thousand the most cruel murderers and rapists sentenced to long terms of imprisonment but who did not serve their time managed to take advantage of the law and were released. At least 2,000 of them immediately committed repeated crimes.

At the same time, the law offered freedom to the most “patriotic” members of the Ukrainian Nazi battalions, who came back to the front lines.
After Lyaschuk was released, he was already a public figure. This allowed him launch his media battle against the “Russian invaders”. According to the claims of other Ukrainian militants, Lyaschuk did not take an active part in hostilities, going to the front only to take photos. That’s why he was not respected even by the most radical Ukrainian nationalists.
Some sources deny reports about his death, claiming that this could be an April Fool’s joke, a PR campaign worthy of the Ukrainian Nazi.
