On August 21, the Kiev regime reportedly attempted an attack at the military airfield Shaikovka in the Russian Kaluga region. The airfield was targeted with an UAV with explosive.

According to the local reports, a drone fell on the territory of the airfield in the Kaluga region. It was timely shot down by Russian forces and caused no damage to the military airfield where Russian Tu-22M3 supersonic bomber are reportedly deployed.

It turned out the airfield was targeted with a civilian quadricopter with a reinforced battery and an improvised explosive device attached to it. Thus, the attack was likely carried out by a group of saboteurs coordinated by Kiev in Russia.

On August 19, the Russian Soltsy military airfield in the Novgorod region was also attacked by civilian drones. The drone was detected by Russian servicemen and shot down with small arms. According to the official reports, a fire broke out in the parking lot on the territory of the airfield, it was quickly extinguished, but one plane was damaged.

Some sources shared photos of Russian Tu-22M3 reportedly burning down at the airfield.

The ongoing attacks of the saboteurs coordinated from Kiev revealed the soft spots in Russian defences in the rear area. There is the need to strengthen the protection of strategically important airfields and to take harsh counter-sabotage measures.
