On October 23rd, Ukraine’s security service – SBU – conducted about 50 simultaneous searches in locations affiliated with the Azvov battalion (the pro-Kiev neo-Nazi radical group that fought in the war in Donbass) and its political wing National Corps.
This was announced by Ukrainian lawyer Andrey Portnov. According to him, a large number of grenades, firearms, ammunition, special anonymous communication equipment, computers, drugs, money and other items were seized during the searches.
News webste Strana.ua, citing its own sources in the SBU, learned details of the operation.
According to them, 46 searches were carried out at more than 100 representatives of the National Corps party and the Azov group. Searches took place in Kharkov, Kiev, Khmelnitsky, Zhitomir.
6 people were detained, one of them is a national police officer.
According to Strana sources, the special operation was carried out in secret from Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.
Recently, the police near Kharkov found a huge cache of weapons, which, according to People’s Deputy Ilya Kiva, belongs to radicals from the “National Corps”.
On August 27th, near the town of Lyubotin, Kharkiv Region, on a road, a group of radicals from the National Corps attacked a bus carrying activists of the Patriots For Life organization.
Hot on the heels, the police detained the attackers. Three days after the attack, all those detained were arrested by the court. At the moment they continue to be in jail.

The arrested individuals were then, more than 6, and below is a list of them:
Yusupov Ernest Veisovich, born on July 14, 1986, from 2014 to 2016 he was a serviceman of the “Aydar” battalion, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in violent actions, seizure of property, is related to the organization of a channel for the supply of weapons from the JFO zone.
Velilyaev Enver Narimanovich, born on August 11, 1979, from 2014 to 2016 was a serviceman of the “Aydar” battalion, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in “raider seizures”, is related to the organization of a channel for the supply of weapons from the JFO zone.
Nikolay Parfimovich, born on February 28, 1986, from 2015 to 2017 was a serviceman of the Ukrainian volunteer corps “Right Sector” and the “Azov” regiment, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective-security structure, he took part in raider activities and force actions.
Nikolai Gennadievich Klyuev, born on August 7th, 1997, from 2014 to 2015 was a serviceman of the Azov regiment, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in force actions, rallies, accompanies the court hearings of activists.
Isakov David Olegovich, born on March 3rd, 1995, from 2015 to 2016 was a serviceman of the Azov regiment, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in “raider seizures”, is related to the organization of a channel for the supply of weapons from the JFO zone.
Stepanenko Pavel Alexandrovich, born on November 16, 1988, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in force actions, protecting rallies.
Dmitry Yushchenko, born on April 8th, 1979, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in raider activities.
Arotionian Goren, born on November 13, 1967, from 2014 to 2016 was a serviceman of the “Aydar” battalion, took part in hostilities in the area of the JFO. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in military actions and seizure of property.
Poghosyan Robert Eduardovich, born on January 25, 1981, from 2017 to 2018 was a serviceman of the Lugansk 1 Special Police Patrol Service Battalion. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in “raider seizures”, is related to the organization of a channel for the supply of weapons from the JFO zone.
Fedorko Stanislav Nikolaevich, born on August 8th,1991, in 2015 was a serviceman of the Azov regiment. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in “raider seizures” of land.
Kolinko Sergey Mikhailovich, born on October 12, 1957, in 2015 was a serviceman of the Azov regiment. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in “raider seizures” of land.
Malanichev Dmitry Vyacheslavovich, born on September 11, 1980, from 2014 to 2016 was a serviceman of the Azov regiment. As part of the so-called detective and security structure, he takes part in “raider seizures” of land.
The surprising part in this case is that raids such as these are even happening, since the National Corps and the Azov Battalion are, more or less, directly supported by the Kiev government.
It is showing that these members were either a sort of scapegoat, arrested for some publicity, or were so radical, that even the authorities couldn’t turn away from arresting them. After all, they were reportedly arrested without the knowledge of the Interior Minister and the Prosecutor General.

For years, the Kiev regime used radical nationalist groups to fight its political opponents and pressure any people or organizations, including the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). Radicals were kidnapping, beating, killing people, seizing private and church properties, but authorities were turning a blind eye on these actions. Instead, the government was promoting these radicals, often neo-Nazi, groups as the ‘real Ukrainian patriots’ and supporting any attempts to legalize their actions. In particular, Kiev allowed the Neo-Nazis from “Azov” to create own political party, the National Corps, and backed up the creation of the pseudo-church organization under the brand of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to cover attacks on the canonical Ukrainian church. Nonetheless, now it seems that at least a part of the post-2014 patriots appeared to be too destructive even for the current political regime. Nonetheless, it is not expected that this separate security action against a low number of members of multiple radical groups operating in Ukraine will change the general situation in the country.
