On January 5, a Ukrainian Shark reconnaissance drone was downed in the outskirts of the town of Aksay in Russia’s Rostov region.
The drone appeared to be nearly intact in a photo that surfaced online. This suggests that it was brought down with electronic warfare means, not air defense fire.
The Shark was especially developed by Ukrspecsystems to conduct reconnaissance and correct artillery fire. The drone was presented in October of 2022, around seven months after the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
The small drone is launched using a catapult and lands with a parachute. It has an endurance of up to two hours, a communication range of 60 kilometers, a flight ceiling of 2,000 meters and a cruise speed of 70-90 kilometers. Typically, the drone is equipped with a electro-optical system and an encrypted data-link.
When the drone was downed it was well out of its operational range. It may have drifted out from its mission course as a result of some technical problem, bad weather or even jamming.
In the last few months, Ukraine attacked several civilian and military targets in Russia with suicide drones of different types. The Shark drone was not designed to carry out such one-way attacks, however.
Russia’s air defense and electronic warfare means have so far succeeded in limiting the threat of Ukrainian drones to a large extend. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, at least 2,834 hostile drone have been shot down since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine.

Too far from the Ukraine. Could be launched from inside RF borders or its range is much more than 60 km. Rostov-Donetsk ~160-170 km.

I looked up. The communication range seemes to be 60 km. It is possible they have improved it. 160 to 170 is far.
Now that the fish has been hacked the rump Ukrap “shark” has shown itself to be just another brainless goldfish cobbled together from bits of Natostan electric$. This war is over when the EUSSR aka Natostan goes belly up.
