Ukrainian losses in Krynki
Ukrainian servicemen refuse to cross the Dnieper River and fight for the stronghold on the eastern bank in the village of Krynki. Ukrainian media are citing Ukrainian commanders, who claim that Ukrainian servicemen even commit suicide in order not to die under Russian fire.
Ukrainian media Strana.ua reported, citing anonymous commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU):
“After visiting Krynki, many refuse to go there again. There are those who refuse to fight in every unit. Some of them are very tough, sometimes it comes to suicide,” one of the interlocutors told the publication on condition of anonymity.
Ukrainian servicemen are trying their best to avoid operations in Krynki.
Ukrainian soldiers do not understand why they have to hold the stronghold on the eastern bank of the Dnieper. Moreover, the real goals of the ongoing bloody battles in Krynki are also “a mystery” for Ukrainian commanders. Unable to expand the zone of their control, Ukrainian forces are only loosing troops in the area.
Over the past week, at least 4 air defense systems of the AFU were destroyed in the Kherson region by forces of the Russian Dnepr unit. Such losses in a short period greatly affected Ukrainian ability to secure the skies in the region. As a result, Russian aircraft increase airstrikes on Ukrainian positions. Thus, the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Krynki is becoming more and more critical every day.
