On April 2, Ukrainian UAVs attacked Russian rear regions. The attack targeted two cities in the Tatarstan republic. The local authorities confirmed strikes on two facilities in the region.
In Yebaluga, the special economic zone Alabuga came under attack. It was reportedly targeted by two drones. As a result of the attack, the buildings of the dormitories of the local polytechnic college were damaged. At least seven civilians were wounded. The plant used for the production of Geran UAVs is reportedly located in the area. The local authorities claimed that there was no damage to the industrial workshops.
In Nizhnekamsk, a drone targeted an oil refinery. The UAV was neutralized by Russian electronic warfare systems. The attack resulted in no significant damage.

The targeted facilities are located on a distance of more than 1000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Judging by the footage from the area, the Alabuga special economic zone was attacked by a civilian light-engine aircraft converted into a kamikaze drone, presumably an A-22 manufactured by Aeroprakt. The military usually use such aircraft as cover targets. Ukrainian forces also launched such aircraft to attack more Russian rear oil refineries in the rear regions.
The fact that Ukrainian UAVs reached the area of the strategically important military-industrial facility in the deep Russian rear confirms that the Russian military is yet to protect its rear from Ukrainian attacks.

you can try to prop up air defenses in the rear, but those are needed at the front, problem the industrial areas were built for economics not war.
20 big oiltanks in one place, with a gap of 4 meters between, one drone can set fire to 1 tanker and the fire will do the rest. thats a lot of oil. solution is to build 40 smaller oiltanker sunken in the ground and have 20 meters gap, this way a drone strike will destroy just one halve sized tank instead of the whole tankparc
