On April 7, Russian forces deployed reinforcements in their base within the al-Qamishli Airport in Syria’s northeastern region.
According to the Anadolu Agency, the reinforcements included 50 trucks and armored vehicles. The reinforcements were sent from the town of Ayn Issa in northern Raqqa, where the Russian Military Police maintains a coordination center with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Russian reinforcements were escorted by two helicopters. Upon approaching the airport, a U.S. patrol chased the convoy.
The Russian base in the al-Qamishli Airport was established last year following a breakthrough agreement between the Damascus government and the SDF.
Initially, several opposition sources claimed that Russia will turn the airport to a full-scale air base, similar to the one in Hmeimim, Lattakia. However, these claims were false. The base was only established to oversee the implementation of the Damascus-SDF agreement, as well as the Russian-Turkish understanding on northeast Syria.
The deployment of fresh reinforcements in the al-Qamishli Airport signals Russia’s commitment to the agreements on northeast Syria. In the last few weeks, Turkish forces violated the agreements on several occasions, targeting Kurdish and government forces.
Don’t count on it, they won’t let Russia be the only ones who call the shots in the ME. It’s mostly up to the U.S, Israel and Turkey how things will develop in Syria, the war will come sooner or later.
USA won’t have a choice. 1. The vast majority don’t want them there and 2. They won’t won’t be able to afford shit like this once the depression bites. We’re only a few weeks into the stoppage. Americans don’t have savings, millions of individuals are going to default on mortgages, millions of businesses are going to fail. We’ve just gone through 120 months of a bull market in equities fuelled by stock buybacks bought on borrowed money when the average bull market lasts 60 months. That means that instead of corporations having cash or assets they have debt.

Russia has a trade surplus and manageable debt. US Shale is already carrying more debt than the companies are worth. First shale oil bankruptcy was last month …. during the 2008 financial crisis it took 18 months to get to this point. The FED had to buy up existing commercial debt 2 weeks ago because no one would touch it … how are they going to raise even more money in an economy that’s shedding trillions of value by the week? This is what’s going to bring the US economy down …. the debt bomb.
Russian oil companies have little debt …. they can survive for years at these low prices. Iran isn’t selling oil anyway, they are basically being blockaded by the USA so what difference does an oil crash make? China will invest in Iran when this is all over but they won’t be investing in the USA.
Fair and objective analysis, I have to agree with most of it. If I have to put it all in just one sentence, then I’d say that as long as the markets still buy and sell in dollars, then the U.S market will remain the most important one in the world. Trump’s Administration passed an economic plan of 2.2T$ and it should be enough to help many businesses to get through the crises. The NYSE is still in a good shape, once a cure is found then it will skyrocket again. Regarding Russia, their main exports are gold, weapons and oil which were all got hurt, they might have a low debt but the average Russian citizen earns enough money for a basic living, not more than that. Many Russian people try to immigrate, I don’t see others do the other way.
