Unidentified Gunmen Blew Up Turkistan Terrorists Communications Towers In Syria’s Greater Idlib (Video)

Support SouthFront

On August 19, unidentified gunmen destroyed communication towers used by the al-Qaeda-affiliated Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) in the western part of Greater Idlib in northwestern Syria, according to the Jesr Press.

The gunmen apparently planted explosive devices inside the towers, which are located in the vicinity of the town of Ras Elhisn, right on Turkey’s border.

A short video shared by Jesr Press shows smoke rising from one of the targeted towers. A total of three towers can be seen in the video.

The TIP, which has more than 3,000 Uyghurs fighters, is occupying many areas in northwestern Idlib, northern Lattakia and northwestern Hama. The terrorist group is one of few close allies of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)

No side has claimed responsibility for the attack on the TIP’s towers, so far. From its side, the group is yet to make any accusations.

The attack may have been carried out by opponents of the TIP. The group reportedly supported HTS in many stand-offs with Turkish-backed militants and other jihadi groups in Greater Idlib. Due to this, the group gained many enemies.
