Unknown Gunmen Attack U.S.-Occupied Omar Oils Fields In Eastern Syria – Reports

Support SouthFront

Early on December 6, unknown gunmen attacked the U.S.-occupied Omar oil fields in the southeastern countryside of Syria’s Deir Ezzor, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The state-run agency’s reporter in the eastern region said that the attack coincided with the arrival of U.S. military and logistic supplies to a base inside the fields.

“U.S. occupation forces responded with artillery strikes and fired illumination rounds,” the reporter said.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) denied the SANA’s report claiming that the explosions heard near the oil fields were a result of live fire drills between its units and the U.S.-led coalition.

The Omar oil fields are among the biggest in Syria. Prior to the Syrian war, the fields produced around 30,000 oil barrels per day. The remaining ISIS cells in the eastern region launched several attacks on the oil fields over the last year.

U.S. forces reinforced their positions in the al-Omar oil fields in the last two months as a part of Washington’s new plan to “guard” oil fields in eastern Syria. The highly questionable plan was widely seen as an attempt to pillage the war-torn country’s oil.

As the U.S. has no legal basis for being there, they can only expect to be attacked.

John

Yep, it’s a mugging.

Wayne Nicholson

“legal” in reference to the USA no longer has any meaning. They can’t even figure out what’s legal in their own constitution let alone international law. Let them sit in the Syrian desert guarding Syrian plumbing ….. at least since they’ve left the border all parties involved are making progress towards bringing this war to it’s conclusion instead of believing in the fairyland state of Kurdistan.

Jens Holm

999999999999999 repeating . None has said attacks are unexpected. That why they have soldiers there and not tourist camels.

Mike

Talking mindless garbage again.

Jens Holm

Dick van Carnard used “expected”.

Karen Bartlett

Yes, sir, because any thief can expect to be stopped if caught.

John

Yeah, nothing going on here, everything is fine. It’s funny, any possible news outside of the narrative is usually dealt with by the same reply; nothing going on here, all is in order. Who knows what actually happened.

Issam

Usually SANA is know for their credibile reports, so far i never really saw them post fake news.

Jens Holm

You must be blind or worse.

Mike

Say’s the kurdish fangirl.

John

I take SANA’s word for it over many other sources. I haven’t seen or remember them posting absolute BS either. I have been watching them for about 5 years.

Jens Holm

I think its well descriebed. USA has retreated to that area and are blocking for oil and gas as they do for Assads by sea transportation.

None has capasity to move anything in those matters for now and maybee for many years. Who should? Who should dare.

USA by that has shorter supply lines too – Less expeasive and kind of fine for Trumpas well.

Mike

An opinion that worth shit coming from you.

Hasbara Hunter

What a pathetic display of unsportsmanlike behavior of the Divided States of Murica…those sore-ass losers are desperately trying to get back a little of the money they have invested in the Headchoppers & thus Syrian War…by Stealing a little more Oil….

Jens Holm

USA block Assads(and Russians) for taking oil there for free.

I again ask for, where dirty waterfilled oild are transported to as well as they make it into fx fuel. NO ANSWER, because there is none.

You still just eat that accusation raw.

SDFs are abke to make for own choise and some very small sale. Thats it.

Hasbara Hunter

Taking Oil Where for Free?

Jens Holm

Thats what I ask for. If USA takes oil, where do they take it out. Taken up its crude oil, which is filled with water and gas and by that even can be used in big powerplant.

So by road, by ship, by airplane, pipeline, truck …

What we do know is small amounts are sold by SDF as well as some not legals are trying to produce and smuggle in very small amounts.

And thats it – Unless we have links showing something else. I see no some other signs for that.

Going by Iraq makes no sense. Long distannces and the pipes already are more then full.

Iran cant export because of the boycut.

Hasbara Hunter

Ah I get it…The U.S. is taking oil for free from the Syrian Peoples…that is called Stealing here in Holland…

Jens Holm

No, they areputting it down. Too much in Alaska.

Hasbara Hunter

Good then the U.S. can leave Syria…they got no business being up there…

Mehmet Aslanak

Generals in Pentagon arranges those setups in order to persuade Trump stay in Syrian quagmire long. Well done. Congrats to the boomers in Pentagon. Mission accomplished.
