If the EU had any sense, it would be repairing the damage done to Russian relations over the past decade or two. Of course our US ‘friends’ are doing all they can to prevent this, for their own selfish interests.

Russia helped Syria defend its sovereignty from US Zio-Nazi colonial, imperialist aggression, invasion and occupation as it had done together with the Soviet Union’s other republics, to liberate not only the Ukrainian Soviet Republic and Crimea, but the world from the US tyranny predecessor, NAZI Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

I prefer that the EU separates itself completely from the US. Kick the Yanks out of its European bases! I applaud the US for helping to liberate us during WWII, we should be friends, but after the end of the Cold War our alliance has gotten us into nothing but trouble. The Dutch military has gotten involved in countless conflicts which served no purpose whatsoever but to score brownie points with US administrations. The most shaming occasion being our involvement with the occupation of Iraq. Just so that our foreign minister could become secretary general of NATO. Or the visit of then prime minister Balkenende with said foreign minister to Bush. The footage of that visit is utterly cringeworthy, for our prime minister comes across as some star struck 12 year old kid who gets to meet his favorite rock star. And like a rock star Bush didn’t even have a clue as to who he was. And why should he? As far as the US is concerned we are but an insignificant speck on the map.

All that America’s wars and involvements have caused for us is that it has destabilized Europe’s neighbors, resulting in a flood of refugees that come our way, not America’s. Causing huge social upheaval. The brainless expansion of the EU and above all NATO eastwards has brought Europe into conflict with Russia, a conflict that need not have happened at all.

But I agree we should increase our military budgets. Its Europe refusal to pay for its own defense which has created its dependency on US military power for protection, and made it slaves to whatever foreign policy crazyness happens to come out of Washington.
