An F-18 fighter jet has crashed shortly after take-off from RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk today.
It crashed around 5 miles from Lakenheath Airfield.
Lakenheath is a United States Air Force base. So, RAF prefix doesn’t mean that F-18 belonged to the UK military.
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is an all-weather fighter jet which has been in service since 1983.
