US Assistance To Ukraine Drops To Minimum Indicators, Says Retired Ukrainian General

US aid to Ukraine has decreased to minimum indicators, former deputy chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian forces and retired general Ihor Romanenko said in an interview with the NTA TV channel. This is another demonstration that the US is incapable of providing Ukraine the support it needs despite promising to back the country until Russia is defeated – a scenario that will evidently not occur.

“The US president apologised to our president for the suspension of arms supplies, after which he provided another package worth $225 million. There was no such low indicator [of assistance] until this half-year break, and only after there had been no supply all this time,” Romanenko complained.

He also recalled that US President Joe Biden had promised to deliver Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems that are in Poland to Ukraine, but Polish President Andrzej Duda soon refused to supply them. According to Romanenko, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin had no choice but to state that the US did not plan to send anti-aircraft missiles from Poland to Ukraine.

“These are the relationships we have between us and our allies,” the retired general concluded.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that Western military assistance does not bode well for Ukraine and only prolongs the conflict, and weapons transport becomes a legitimate target for the Russian Army.

Following the announcement of a new $225 million package of weapons and ammunition for Kiev, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky told his American counterpart that to thwart Russian forces, Ukraine must be allowed to use the weapons to strike at Russia itself. Although Biden gave limited permission for the Ukrainian military to fire at the Russians creating a buffer zone in Kharkov, he has distanced himself from the idea of striking key military targets elsewhere on Russian territory.

“It should not be construed as a shift away from our broader policy that we don’t encourage or enable US weapons to be used against targets inside Russia,” a US official said.

In effect, by the US limiting Ukraine’s use of weapons means that there is a realisation in Washington that Russia will not hesitate to reciprocate measures to any escalation by the West. In effect, why would Russia hesitate in supplying Cuba, as an example, with highly advanced weapons capable of striking the southern United States if Western weapons are striking Russia from Ukraine?

“If they supply these weapons to the combat zone and call for the use of these weapons on our territory, why then don’t we have the right to do the same, to respond in a mirror way?” Putin questioned on June 7.

Beyond the issue of weapon shortages and the US wanting Russia to not take reciprocal measures, Ukraine’s lack of manpower is contributing to the desperate situation. According to US media, people convicted of “drug trafficking, armed attacks and murders, as well as other serious crimes,” are already serving in the Ukrainian Army.

Thousands of men were released from Ukrainian prisons and sent to serve in Ukrainian troops, including criminals, The Washington Post reported on June 16.  It is recalled that Zelensky recently signed a bill on the mobilisation of criminals serving prison sentences.

On May 30, Olena Vysotska, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine, said that around 4,000 prisoners had expressed a desire to serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Short on troops, Ukraine is freeing criminals to fight. Not all convicts qualify and those who do are required to join assault brigades, which engage in some of the most deadly fighting. More than 2,750 men have been released from Ukrainian prisons since the parliament adopted a law in May authorizing certain convicts to enlist, including those jailed for dealing drugs, stealing phones and committing armed assaults and murders, among other serious crimes,” the newspaper reported.

According to the Washington Post, Ukrainian convicts will fight in units formed entirely by former prisoners, but under the leadership of the military. At the same time, a Ukrainian military officer involved in the process of recruiting prisoners into the Ukrainian Army explained to the newspaper that no one in Ukraine believes in the success of the initiative and that there are fears that they will cause uprisings at the front or defect completely.

“They’re all going to run like Forrest Gump,” he told the newspaper.

Shortages are abounded in Ukraine, whether it be manpower, weapons, or money, and although Biden has promised to support the Kiev regime to the end, the US clearly does not have the capabilities to achieve this. In fact, the situation is so desperate for Ukraine that they are now turning to criminals to plug gaps on the front lines, positions that will ultimately be overrun by Russian forces.

macron hasn’t lost. left and right globalists parties are united against nationalist le pen. the best final result for le pen could be 60% globalist 40% nationalist. it’s like that since 2001 when his father jean marie le pen was opposed to chirac (globalist right). same shit happened under sarkozy and under holland. it’s the fourth time !
