On Saturday, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that its fighters have reached the Syrian-Iraqi border.

The SDF said that during the last days its forces advanced from its positions south of the al-Tanak oil field in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside and captured over 40km.

During their advance, SDF fighters killed over 11 members of ISIS and destroyed several vehicles of the terrorist group. The SDF also said that its fighters captured several weapons and vehicles of ISIS.

The SDF is now stationed north of the strategic city of al-Bukamal on the Syrian-Iraqi border, which’s under the control of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies.

Syrian opposition sources reported that US-led coalition warplanes destroyed several positions of ISIS in the town of Hajin located near the eastern bank of the Euphrates River on Saturday. According to this, the SDF didn’t advance along the eastern bank of the Euphrates. The US-backed force moved throough the desert area north of the river.

Hundreds of ISIS fighters are now effectively besieged in the al-Jazeera region between Iraq and Syria. Due to the rapid advance of the Iraqi forces, most ISIS fighters will be pushed to the Syrian part of al-Jazeera in the upcoming days.

A new supply of SDF Uniforms for their newest battle hardened recruits must have arrived from the US Military :)

Garga

Curious that they “reinforce” their vehicles the way ISIS does.

Timurleng

What are you suggesting?

Garga

That SDF recruits ISIS.

RedBaron9495

…or they are actually 1 and the same, and carry a number of different flags in their rucksacks.

zman

…and the US recruits them both…as if there is a difference.

Tom Tom

Yep. Of course.

Jens Holm

Haha.

Jens Holm

SDF were given so many new vehicles, beacuse they had no real tranporation left.

Garga

How about we ask at what price these “new vehicles” were given to PKK in Syria? Are they for free or the giver wants something in return?

Tom Tom

hope you’re being sarcastic, Timurleng.

Jasminko Grdic

6 days ago there was a news that a Conway entered SDF controlled territory with new trucks and weapons. Sure there was also some new uniforms and flags

Tom Tom

Tim Conway entered SDF controlled territory? Oh, its all over now. U.S. secret weapon.

Jens Holm

Yes, You can find them as video from hasaka at thissite some few days ago.

dutchnational

Indeed, reports are a huge convoy arrived and returned. So much for Erdogans claims.

Valery Grigoryev

11 members of ISIS killed through the 40 km distance. Oh, there were a fierce clashes!:) May be they were just playing paintball?

bob balluga

looool only 11 ISIS killed for all that territory. Love it, its like a comedy

Jens Holm

Before that ISIS gave them several hard counterattacks – and lost I do not know how many.

So now SDF`s take the price – 40 km territory from the “above desert side”.

As usual people like You ignore SDF has just as hard fightings in the valley as SAA with Itan, Hesbollah and Russians do – well almost.

bob balluga

Yeh sure buddy, keep telling yourself. SAA are taking the brunt of the fighting not SDF. People like you ignore the fact that SDF barely fighting Isis

Jens Holm

2000 SDF`s died or got handicapped for Eufrat Wrats. 2500 got normal wounded. If anything, You are nothing compared to pictures of every dead from there.

You just prefare Mafiaosas and their corrupt regime in Damaskus like a spendable sheep. All are – You only have chances, if You say Baaaahatistas, Baaah, Baah.

Bob

Reality check – the SDF evacuated the final remaining ISIS members – including swathe of foreign fighters – out of Raqqa city. They were trucked and bused out into south east in front of SDF lines and toward the SAA. Even the western MSM has reported it:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-sh/raqqas_dirty_secret

bob balluga

dafuq is wrong with you? no idea what your saying.

Bob

What rubbish – in Deir Ezzore province the SDF campaign has systematically waited for the SAA to do the real fighting and soaking up of the ISIS reserves and heavy weapons, and only then does SDF move forward into ISIS depleted and far less contested eastern Euphrates territory. Likewise SDF benefits from US field operatives cutting deals with ISIS by virtue of US hard currency, to buy off, or divert resistance toward SAA, whenever possible. The lack of casualties on SDF-ISIS front lines during large SDF advances in lower eastern Euphrates valley is ridiculous compared to the SAA’s hard fought realities.

Bill Wilson

The SDF kicks ass while the SAA gets theirs kicked until their better units show up. I’m just glad that the defenders of Deir Azzor were finally relieved.

Bob

The SDF are another mediocre militia otherwise known as the YPG, that just currently happen to have US SOF and US Marine artillery units ’embedded’ and consisting of their real firepower and driving force.

dutchnational

Ever heard of empty desert?

bob balluga

Yes retard but for all that territory, a measly 11 isis killed is hilarious

Bill Wilson

Why should ISIS station fighters in strength to defend a wasteland that has no strategic value? The SDF probably caught a fee Deash patrols who couldn’t get away fast enough.

Martin Benitez

you relize thats mostly desert you cant defend and isis has been desimated by the latest saa advances the men lost in dier ezzor and abu kamal were the last die hards the rest are just hideing in the desert scatterd around you cant draw a massive line and just fill the desert with man all gatherd together then theyd just get a airstrike

Jens Holm

Thats how it is Velery Grigoryev.

Aquartertoseven

Surprised that they weren’t called ‘intense clashes’ with ‘devastating losses’, that’s how the SAA/Iraqis play it, acting as if they’re facing insurmountable odds with tremendous bravery. When in reality, they massively outnumber all jihadists in their countries, as they always have, and the worst their enemy can bring to bear are fucking pickup trucks. And they still lost a lot against them!

Jens Holm

Correct again Valery Grigoryev. Northern Syria are not shouting all the time to cover losses and pretending they are bígger then they are.

They also fight much more clever and mobile in all directions. By that they get lower losses in %. You might remember, You should not expect a small army should have the same numbers in dead as a big one.

Jens Holm

Whatever those troops do, you will critiseize them. No wonder, they wont be mith someone like You.

You should blame ISIS not being there or something.

Valery Grigoryev

It is not accidental that ISIS keeps their core forces against SAA, while very few against SDF – this is my main bias. So, everybody may draw a conclusion: WHO is considered by ISIS as its main enemy, and whom they are fiercely fighting with. And who is just pretending, having actually just some kind of a journey, capturing oil fields on the way :)

XJ5

How did The American, Israeli, Saudi Arabian,Kurdish & SDF coalition effortlessly make it to the remaining Omar Oil fields and the Iraqi border without a fierce battle with ISIS?

Daniel Castro

Because American, Israeli, Saudi Arabian, Kurdish & SDF are ISIS…

Langaniso Mhlobo

Thank you very true.

Jasminko Grdic

And SDF is ISIS

Jens Holm

You must be born yesterday. if you read sites like Liveupdate here, you would know.

Welcome to the world. I hope you are not twin.

Jens Holm

You might turn it around as well. How comes Russians, Iranians and Hesbollah after heavy airstrikes could not take those oilfields by crossing Eufrat.

Its about stupidism from Damaskus of the worst kind as well as low priority.

Your critics of SDF having lighter losses cover for, You have a big but very ineffective and shouting army more based on shouting then good warfare.

Seemes You still dont understand how ISIS as well as SDF fights. Thats nr 1 here for good warfare: Know your enemy and its strong and weak sides.

Kurds mainly avoid battles and go for the weak spot for the enemy. They are mainly not in big battle groups. When they make big battles, its because they have observed the enemy well and therefore mainly win – and at least dont loose.

Thats how modern warfare often are today. Well educated independant small groups with good locals leadership on their lowest levels.

Its made by the guerilla part of their training. Small groups has to be smart and take the opportunities right away without asking.

Germans at WW2 are the best descriebed example of that. Army groups down to the lowest level was protected by the military laws, Officers had to ask the non grades, and those should be listened to.

Hitler also said: If Your high officers die, You should learn to replace them. If Your low officers die, You should replace them. It was a part of their warfare to make skills for that up and down their system.

It meant that their soldiers often did not gave up, because they right away got leaders, they already knew and trusted their replacement being a part of themself and well known.

I dont see anything even close to that in SAA. There is no asking just commanders and obeyers. By that You can only be a good general right in the front as commander, but by that often get killed – Or being in Damaskus – so to speak – having no idea about, whats going on.

High ranked expensive officers should be right behind the front as protected but of couse inspect troops for morale and a little more.

You have pictures of the many high ranked incl. the many at DEZ, where they made perfect conditions for ISIS for defence as well as counterattacs.

George King

Time to drive north on N7 crreating a cauldron cutting off weapons flow and trapping SDF/ISIS east of N7. Create check points for vetting where only Syrians are allowed back west of N7. Once cleared rinse and repeat moving westward to Arin.

Vitex

I’m sure that as soon as the Syrians stop being so over-stretched that they’ll get around to some “resettlement”

XJ5

The biggest fact about Kurds is that their population in Syria only comprised 3-7 percent of the population before the war so how do the Kurds form a new country in Syria when most of their fights are probably from foreign countries with out calling it a Annexation or a Land Grab?

Attrition47

One bunch of bastards at a time….

Jens Holm

No, it was 10% and 1,9 milion.

Northern Syria is not only kurds as well. Arabs are probatly 60%. So stop your dirty evil shit about it. They are – if all refugees was back – close to 4,5 million having 20% of the syrian territory.

Most of their soldiers are from Syria and has always lived there and being in that part of it having their homes, farms and kiosks.

So they dont grab land. They take it back from ISIS, which stole it, because Aassads didnt defend them.

They also has not uprised against Assads. But as I saw in an old Robin Hood movie. So many Syrian lamb went into Lions and are no more obeying and spendable sheep as you.

dutchnational

Read a little . 15% prewar .

You can call me Al

“the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)”……… are they still backed?, the Yanks are ALLEGIDLY stopping funded to them and sucking up to Turkey again.

zman

To be accurate, the US said they would stop aiding and abetting the Kurds. The US will claim that the SDF is mainly Arab, thus will still supply them. Any bets?

Jens Holm

You might read harder as well.

dutchnational

In fact. up till now. US hasn’t said anything. Only Turkey.

Jens Holm

You might read harder.

Elider Barrientos

Kurdos ratas traidoras

Jens Holm

You are very close to banditos having ratasses.

Vitex

Is it just me, or do the SDF look stupider and more lost every day? They have no strategic purpose being where they are, except to deny Iraq and Syria a border crossing.

Jens Holm

You must be stupid yourself. They have never denied Syria and Iraq bordercrossing. ISIS has. US has and have at Al Tanf.

SDF`s are not lost. They have a good area for a Federation and only ISIS in a small corner close to Aby Kamal and north of it in the deserts.

So they are resting and preparing for external and internal things before next phase, where ISIS will be of 0 importance as wished.

dutchnational

So the report claims Iraqi forces pushing IS west while SDF pushes them east. We will see who pushes hardest.

Don't read butthurt replies

Those 11 killed Daesh terrorist are now SDF members probably lol.

gustavo

I do not know why so many people are surprised about this when everybody knows that ISIS and SDF are handled by the same master (USA-Israel). This was already expected, wasn’t it ? I happened in Deir Ezzor, it happend in Al Mayadin, and it happened now her. I do not see any difference at all, Syria-Russia armies just allowed this to happen. Lavro-Kerry agreement ? maybe. NOthr part of Euphrates will belong to SDF(kurds USA-puppets) and South part of Euphrates will belong to Syria.

gustavo

Happy trip with dancing, drinking, girls, and all enjoy full things free. Yes, we can also invite ISIS member to the party, and there will be a lot a firework to the air.
