On September 29, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured the main headquarters of ISIS known as “Wilayat al-Raqqa building” in the center of Raqqa city, according to Kurdish sources.

The sources claimed that ISIS had been running the entire Raqqa governorate from that headquarter since 2014.
The SDF announced that its fighter killed 11 ISIS fighter during the ongoing clashes in al-Nahda, al-Amin, al-Akrad, al-Hine and al-Huryah districts in the center of Raqqa city.
Moreover, the SDF announced that its fighters captured a weapons cache of ISIS in al-Nahdah district.

The ISIS-linked news agency, Amaq said that ISIS snipers killed two SDF fighters in al-Nahda district . Amaq also released a video of an SDF fighter being hit by an ISIS sniper in the city.
Meanwhile, Kurdish sources claimed that the SDF reached Muwayli village 14km south of Markada town in the southern Haskah countryside. From its side, Amaq claimed that ISIS fighters destroyed a bulldozer of the SDF with an ATGM in al-Da’aif village west of Markada.

A Kurdish activist claimed on September 29, that a commander of the US-led collation told “Agence France-Presse” (AFP) that the SDF next goal is Mayadin city in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside.
“External attacks on our homelands are planned here.” The commander told the AFP according to the activist. However, these claims are not yet confirmed by any official source in the SDF or the US-led collation.
The SDF will not likely be able to reach Mayadin city before the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies the are in only few kilometers away from it. Also the SDF does not have enough forces in Deir Ezzor governatore to capture this ISIS stronghold if the terrorist group decides to defend it.
